Now, dayum, real or not this thing looks like a giant PSP battery. Uuuuugly.

I kinda hope it's real though, a slim version with a lower price point might finally tip me over the edge andmake me buy one.

@BlazBleu: Crappy picture or not, you can tell what it looks like from that picture extremely well.

Flat, black plastic with a curve on it (like the fat PlayStation 3) and a PlayStation 3 logo plastered on the front that strangely looks nothing like the current PlayStation 3 logo and more like a PlayStation 2 logo.

If I don't get a PS3 before these hit store shelves or I can't find one once the PS3 Slim launches, I'm simply never going to get one. It's an eye sore.

@choffy21: So you won't get a console based on aesthetics? You would pass up all the first party exclusives just because the console doesn't look nice? That's even worst than not getting a game on the PS3 becaues it doesn't look as polished or refined as on the 360. Then again, this is just a rumor, so the final design may have not been officially confirmed yet.

I don't think I understand. Not getting a PS3 game because it looks better on the 360 is a good reason not to get a PS3 game (provided you have the alternative option of course)

I agree that aesthetics wouldn't affect my purchase, at least not dramatically, but seriously, you can't tell me that doesn't look uglier than... well.. it's really ugly. I still think it looks like a PSP slim battery though, it really does imo. You also have to remember that if something doesn't 'look' expensive, people are less likely to think it is worth the money, so aesthetics are important to sales, even if they shouldn't be.

If the PSP go is any indication, the slim version will cost more than the current PS3. Yeah, Sony is full of retarded douchebags like that. Dont get me wrong, i have my PS3 and PSP along side my DS and 360, but I was looking forward to a new PSP until they did that. Dumbasses.

And no, I won't buy a console if I don't like the asthetics. I already have an Xbox 360. In reality, I really don't NEED a PS3 for any reason. When the current 80GB PS3 drops to $299, I am going to buy one, no questions asked. However, until then, or after then, I'm not going to get one.

EDIT: Besides, I've already picked out what I'm going to get. This bundle from Sam's Club.

I think the picture in the linked post is just of the top of the console shell. If you look at an article posted earlier (http://kotaku.com/5253475/are-these-the-first-pics-of-the-ps3-slim) you can see someone holding it up and can see the underside of the shell (2nd pic). If you look at the picture of the box in the same article (1st pic), you can see there is more to it and makes it look a lot better IMO. I hope this and the BC are real personally.

I'm pretty sure that is only the top. If anything that pic was taken at one point of an assembly line. I'm sure the PS3 slim will look much different once assembled.
