i found it fun. its cool to play bowling and talking to people. its annoying when you first start (i didnt know what to do really) but it defenitly something different to play.

I think it looks pretty terrible, and never looked even the least bit decent.

It was never a feature I care about, after all, its just that, a feature. The mini games are cool, having an Arkanoid with a twist is funny imo, and the mini version of Echo Chrome is also good. But the idea that we have to wait for the others to finish playing it to be able to use them is not bad, its awful. The guy/guys who did that should get fire immediately. The rest is cool, I guess some will use it when bored, or not in the mood to play.

I still can't see any use for it. I went around, chatted with some people, gave some thumbs downs... and I don't feel like ever going back again. Both bowling and pool are boring, I see no reason for the movie section, and I'll never ever waste any real money on fake furniture. Also, I don't enjoy playing house, so moving around a couch does nothing for me.
So, overall, I see no point to it.

Remember guys that the real HOME (not the beta) will have loads more stuff to do and this is just a ''closed beta''-we haven't even had the open beta yet.
Well anyways, if your in the beta, join the giantbomb Clubhouse.

I like the idea of being able to "meet" people without being in a game or whatever. But i havent played it yet.

At first thought a vritual representation of community features sounds awesome, but then you realize how slow and cumbersome going in and out of Home, to and from games, would be. Home is a very inefficient means of providing services and features to gamers. I don't want to spend time loading another application when beginning or changing between games. I speculate on said features passed beta of course, however what purpose does Home serve if not to facilitate the community's connection to gaming? A virtual toy to walk around in, dance, bowl and talk to people? Seriously, 99% of the population has much better things to do with its time. When Home hits open beta and the masses flood in they'll realize, after a short stint of novelty, how useless the application really is.
I'm sorry, but while Sony has been flicking its balls Microsoft jacked them and dropped many of the features Sony advertized for Home early on. Looking at the beta I have to ask, it took them this long to dump that on us? Home is an epic failure.

"Chainblast said:That's definitely true, however I don't necessarily dislike Home. I just don't see the point or how it can effectively function as a gaming hub. Which is what Sony was initially selling it as. Short of a virtual Myspace, everything can be done in a more efficient and superior manner. That's all. There are so many desired game-related community features I want to see integrated into the XMB. Stuff like being able to join games as a group, unified voice communication and an effective way to invite friends to games I'm playing and vise versa. I don't want to wait for Home to load, then load the game, then have to reload the XMB and Home when chaning games. It's tedious and unncessary."At first thought a vritual representation of community features sounds awesome, but then you realize how slow and cumbersome going in and out of Home, to and from games, would be. i spent some time in the BETA yesterday. not impressed. just does not seem fun, the pool and bowling game are far from perfect. the theatre is ok if you are into your trailers. other than that whats the point of HOME. I turn on my ps3 to play games, watch movies etc.. and not to have a conversation with random strangers. im sure the full version will have some fun stuff but the BETA did nothing for me
