I need to update it for something I am doing. Adobe, unsurprisingly, says that my system isn't supported. Is there any alternative way around this?

Huh, that sucks. You'd think that that would be something they'd allow. I'm sure I'm not the only person in the world using my PS3 as a second internet-capable computer.

there are two main reasons you cant:
1. the browser the ps3 uses is not a common platforl, requiring specially made updates for its components.
2. sony has set permissions for downloads off the browser and it will not allow downloads of stuff other than pics, video or audio(i think)
