I've been trying to install Ubuntu 9.04 on my PS3. I put the following on my USB Flashdrive: PS3/otheros/otheros.bld

Yes, my flashdrive is formatted to FAT32, I checked, and yes the files are there when I put the drive on my PC. Can anyone help me?

I've done all the necessary preparations as well (backing up data, formating/partitioning hdd).

@SathingtonWaltz: Did you follow a guide on the internet or did you just work from the intstructions of others? Is there a specific model you can only use Ubuntu?

I don't know if you've already looked but this page seems to have pretty concise intructions on how to install Ubuntu.

@eroticfishcake: I was using a different guide. The one you provided wasn't much help. Thanks anyway though! =)

This is the guide I was using:  http://news.softpedia.com/news/Ubuntu-7-10-on-PS3-73272.shtml

@SathingtonWaltz: Technically the instructions should be the same but since you're using version 9.04 and the guide refers to version 7.10 it wouldn't by any different would it? Maybe?

What about this?

Thanks to you I successfully installed Ubuntu 9.04 on my PS3!!! Thanks for your help! It's kinda slow, but not to the point were it's not bearable. I am looking into some emulators and other possible ways to speed it up. Thought I heard a lot of complaints that it was hard to connect to a wireless network, I had no problems and Ubuntu established a connection right away.
