What tipped you over the edge to get a PS3?

(Side note, theres a similer thread here http://www.giantbomb.com/playstation-3/60-35/how-long-have-you-had-your-ps3/35-234872/#111 but this seems like a diffrent enough question to warrent a thread)

I was wondering what tipped you over the edge to get PS3? Some people are just early adopter because they love Ps3/are rich but for everyone who could have got another console, or maybe bought for 360/PC/Wii etc. games what was it that made you get a PS3 instead?

Was it perhaps one single game, like MGS4, or certain feature (like free online) or maybe like me it was simple there was now enough exclusives that I actually wanted to play to actually think about picking one up.

So what was you point guys?

It looked cool, I guess. I don't know, the Bluray player and MGS4 were real incentives for me. And the fact that there a bunch of other great exclusives for it.

I think it had to be the fact that I got a 1080p TV and really wanted a Blu Ray player. Plus, MGS4 came out for it. I really do love the PS3 controller for sports games and racing games. Buy a PS3 + Burnout Paradise for the PS3 = A great purchase :)

All of its special features, games, and free online. I had a Wii when I got it. I wanted a 360 too but after comparing them a PS3 seemed to fit my personality best.

I dunno... that it looks like a grill? Just bought it so that i can play the PS3 exclusive games since i already had a 360 so the tird party games go there. So you might say Uncharted, MGS4 and so on.

MGS4 and ironically that is the only game i ever really played on it... but was it waste of money... absoultely not!

When i won it at launch, i had no intention of geting the system it didn't appeal to me at all and still doesn't but the bestbuy i was at was holding a contest so i signed up and won.

I got sick and tired of my 360 dying on me, so I decided to pursue a different console. Besides, my thinking is, any really cool game that comes to the 360 has a strong chance of coming to PC as well, and I already have one of those.
