Provided there is at least one launch game I want to play, I'll buy it day one; the way Sony has been blowing their load over the last year, I'm not so sure they'll have anything left over to release that I want on launch.

The Last of Us, Beyond: Two Souls and Gran Turismo 6 are all system sellers that have yet to come out, I have no idea why they weren't shifted over to the PS4, that seriously would have been the basis for the best launch line up in console history.

inFamous: Second Son is the game that has to come on release for me to buy it, everything else they've announced I can wait for, I'll probably pick up Knack and Driveclub also, but only once infamous comes out.

I've learned from too many bad experiences that it's best to wait about 18 months before purchasing a new console/handheld.

I'll buy it on launch for sure. Unless Microsoft wins me over until then.

Nothing's in stone until we know more about the system and its games, but I'll more than likely get one at launch. I always enjoy console launch hype, and this might be one of the last times we get to partake.

XBox One will likely be as dead as XBox 360 was here, and I have 0 interest in a Wii U. Consequently, if I want any console gaming, PS4 is my only option.

99% certain I'll get a PS4 in its launch window. 50% certain that I'll preorder it post E3. Microsoft has an extremely slim chance of swaying my purchase decision in their favor. I don't want to discount the Xbox One completely, but for all intents and purposes, I already have.

It completely depends on the price. As a student, I would need to know how much to put aside - and if it's like $600 to hop on with the system + a game or two, I may need to wait.

Probably. Logic and the history of console launches tell me to wait until the second run of units is released with the major bugs ironed out, but this is the fist generation where I will be able to buy a console at launch. I'm really excited about that fact and I want to be a part of it. The only way I won't get it if is if the price is ridiculously steep or if MS has some unbelievable looking games lined up, and if they don't charge for XBL.

I'll pick it up day one, hopefully inFamous is there at launch along with Knack and DriveClub but even if it only launched with Killzone I would still get it.

I'll wait for the first round of price cuts for the consoles to make a decision. By then hardware issues like red rings will start to be figured out and hopefully revised and a collection of decent games will have built up. As much as I love new technology I rarely feel like being an early adopter, especially when it comes to consoles.

So far Sony is making all the right moves but i will wait for e3 and what launch games will come out. I'm betting it will be the first next gen system i buy.

Unless a need for the money arises in the interim I intend to be waiting in line somewhere. That is of course dependent on my assumptions about the unannounced stuff being mostly correct.

Day 1. Sony has never let me down. I've used my PS3 more than any other device in my entire life second only being my PC.

I'd kind of like to, but I know launch is one of the worst times to buy, even if it is more exciting. I've never bought a console on launch day though, and the opportunity doesn't arise very often. I need a few more details while I consider.

Money available, yes, I would like to.

Considering that it's pretty much impossible for Sony to get out of having heavy DRM I'd surely wait for about half a year of both consoles being out before even considering buying a console of any kind.
