I know there are great games coming but I'm getting for xmas and i already have a X1 and well not sure if i should just sit on it till second son ?

I'm waiting till second son to buy one. If you already have it, I would advise against 'sitting on it'. Just enjoy what it has to offer now and when there's nothing left, put it away. No harm in that

If you have a ps3 then your fine for at least a yearand a half of solid titles still coming. This happens at the start of every gen since the ps2 launch is never great but unlike previous years at least mgs is out in march as is infamous which means quality titles look to be arriving much faster this time around.

Every console launch is slow for games. The only good exclusives Killzone and Resogun, there's also some good third party titles like Ass Creed and Battlefield 4, but if you already have a X1 you could just get them on that console (if you haven't already).

next year's PS4 games will be amazing. I think you're good to go with the X1 for now, wait for a PS4 bundle next holidays

The first time I turned on my PS4 this month was yesterday to play 5 minutes of Pinball Arcade. Other than that its been PS3 and PC. I don't foresee anything really grabbing my attention until the Spring. I plan to play Don't Starve again when its released in January but I put 40+ hours into the PC version so I'm not sure how long I will go with it.

If you're itching to get a console, have you considered the WiiU. I got a cheap bundle and the games seem to be getting cheaper also. Maybe a Vita or even one of the last gen consoles like PS3. Christmas is the time to find one of these.

@inspectah: Its the first couple months of a new piece of hardware of course there aren't many games yet. You buy in for future potential or simply just wait.

In case you missed Tomb Raider's latest incarnation, the Definitive Edition is coming out on January 28th. Apparently(?) the price will be the same as it was when the game first came out and there's no cheap PS3>PS4 upgrade as far as I know, but if you're someone who has never played the game before, I suppose it's not that big of a deal.
