Developers were told last week PlayStation Store would come back online this week--but it wasn't a guarantee. Nothing's been a guarantee with the return of PlayStation Network and Sony's online infrastructure, but it seemed likely.

Sony's pushing back on last week's reports of PlayStation Store returning today, while also reporting PSN will undergo maintenance today.

"For those asking about the PlayStation Store, we’re still targeting restoration of all services by the end of this month," said PlayStation social media manager Jeff Rubeinstein on the PlayStation Blog. "Contrary to reports, the Store will not be publishing today."

The PSN maintenance shouldn't affect your game playing as the work's happening between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM PST. And even during that time, you should be able to log into PSN, though be aware things could be a tad slower. Registration, account management and password reset features, however, will not be available during that period.

I'm looking into when we might expect the store to come back up--stay tuned.

Kind of a bummer but I'd rather they take the time to make things work rather than just throw it up.

This is what I get for not loading every game up as I buy them. I got a platformer itch this weekend and finally broke out my Little Big Planet 2 Collector's Edition but of course can't unlock all the goodies with the store down. *waaah* Guess that means more Sly Cooper Collection instead... damn save points *grumble*

What an ass rape this whole issue have been. I feel sorry for the guy if they ever catch him. If I was Sony I'd hire an army of P.I's and find him on my own then kidnap him and make him disappear off of the face of the earth. Or better yet Cut all his fingers off. I can't imagine a greater physical punishment to a hacker.

Ive waited this long, so whats a few more days or weeks.

I really want to continue my playing of Back to the Future.  Plenty of stuff to keep me occupied, though...played through Yakuza 3, working on Yakuza 4 now, and various Xbox games.

Game of Thrones, The Witcher, and MK's story mode have me plenty occupied.

Feel bad for the developer's that are getting shafted by this.

If you ignore the whole could have taken our financial details thing then the people complaining are being absolute children. Are you really telling me that without online capabilities you are unable to find enjoyment in any of your games for 3 weeks? Mortal Kombat, Portal 2 and L.A. Noire kept me plenty busy and even if I could go online I probably wouldn't have been that tempted to.
 
This happened, now we have to just move on. It was because of the actions of some selfish morons, Sony did everything they could, they're giving away free stuff when they really don't need to, and E3 is around the corner so let's just put our big boy pants on and get on with our lives.

Sigh...I will admit this is disappointing, but at least I would rather have them spend the time getting everything in 100% working order before re-opening the PSN Store. 
 
My free games can wait.
