Hello all, just wondering if the crew have said if they are planning on doing a live quick look of the Vita on release day. I for one really think that they should.

    Thanks.

I think Jeff said on Formspring that getting footage of the vita is awkward at the moment, so while it would be cool there would be probably a delay in vita quick looks like the 3DS.

They don't have any capture equipment for the Vita, so it would consist of over the shoulder camera's, which always look weird.

@MattyFTM: @AmatureIdiot: I believe he was talking about a QL of the Vita hardware itself, not any particular games. They did a similar thing when the 3DS launched. It was neat.

Ya, more of a hardware quick look than focusing on the games or would this fall under the Tested branch of WM?

A weird quick look is better then no quick look at all. I don't care about precision vido capture, in fact goofy un-profession videos are usually the most fun. Just have someone hold a cam and do an unbox/over the shoulder playthrough of some release games.

I think they'll do what they did with the 3DS.

I am so excited for the Vita. I hope the quick look helps to make the wait a little bit easier. I am curious to see what the guys think of the Vita.

So what happened to the hardware quick look? I imagine it got delayed or something but there's no new date scheduled...

There should be a drunk live unboxing quick look...I've noticed a disturbing lack of drinking during features lately.

Am I the only one that thought the whole show was a little depressing? Jeff and Patrick seemed a little tired, and there was very little excitement about any of the features or games.

@jozzy: The first couple hours they were into it, but as time went on, they got to the bottom of the barrel of games. That combined with being there for 5 hours obviously came across in their enthusiasm. Understandably so.

Hmm, could be that it is a perception from the later hours, but I don't recall a lot of excitement from the beginning. A lot of the software-stuff (apps) of the vita seemed clunky, they focused on the dumb touch stuff in uncharted, I thought Wipe-out looked pretty cool but they were complaining about the framerate. Every game seemed to have terrible loading times... They seemed to be most "into" Marvel and Lumines, which indeed looked pretty cool.

EDIT: I guess it just compares unfavourably to the live stream they had of the Kinect stuff. Now those were some terrible games, but they seemed to have fun burning through them, among it the "legendary" GB footage like the horse meets rider stuff. I don't know, this seemed more like a couple of jaded people playing a couple of so-so games on a couch.
