Fuck, I don't want to feel obligated to play Unchated VITA, that game looks like shit. Everything else looks good though.

It's not. Bend did a great job keeping the feel of Uncharted. Control well and is visually fantastic for a handheld game.

Now I'm finally interested in PS Plus.

#53 Posted by HarlequinRiot (1098 posts) -

I'm assuming PS3 Plus accounts doesn't transfer over to the Vita, but it might not be a bad way to boost sales. At least offering subscribers a discount for getting both would probably get more people to do it.

They do. A PS+ account is universal from PS3 to Vita.

i might get a vita when the memory card prices come down.

#56 Posted by amp_1986 (82 posts) -

Sounds awesome. I just got the Liberation Vita bundle and was probably going to get Golden Abyss and Gravity Rush at some point. Now I just need to get a bigger memory card.

#57 Posted by ervonymous (1297 posts) -

Wasn't expecting this much support, but I guess they had to do something. More flexible file management is a welcome update.

#58 Posted by radioactivez0r (851 posts) -

Now I'm seriously looking at the $200 Black Ops Vita BF deals. I mean, I've already got Plus....

#59 Posted by Cyrisaurus (455 posts) -

I'm fucking getting a Vita.

#60 Posted by RecSpec (3829 posts) -

Wanted to pick up Gravity Rush and Wipeout but never got around to it.
My procrastination paid off.

#61 Posted by Fawkes (246 posts) -

Can I download Vita games to my PS3? I'm pretty sure I've read you have to actually download the games during that month in order to get them. I just don't want to pay for PS+ and then have to buy a $90 memory card for my Vita to be able to get anything out of it.

Also, if your subscription runs out do you lose all the games forever, even if you resubscribe?

#62 Posted by yakov456 (1908 posts) -

As a vita owner and PSplus user who doesn't own these games this makes me VERY happy! Wow.

You can download them on your PS3 but can't play them on your PS3 (you have to transfer them to the Vita) And some games are on the service for over a month (like inFamous 2 and LBP2 on the PS3) and the PlayStation Blog tells you in the store updates what expires the following week. And if your subscription runs out, you lose the games as long as you are not subscribed but as soon as you resubscribe, you do regain access to those games.

PS+ is officially the best deal in gaming. Amazing.

#65 Posted by MisterSamMan (364 posts) -

Right before Persona 4 Golden. Fuck you Sony, time upgrade to Plus.

#66 Posted by Thiefsie (94 posts) -

CanI hoard these games on my PS+ PS3 before I get my Vita and then transfer them over later?

As long as you have a subscription you should be able to.

#68 Edited by mandude (2669 posts) -

I hope "Custom Screen Mode" implies an option to properly fit PAL PSOne Classics.

The EU lineup isn't as good, but considering I'd be getting the PS3 lineup too, I'll probably get it anyway.

#69 Posted by crusader8463 (14422 posts) -

I knew that Tactics game was going to be on there. I'm glad I put off buying it. Too bad Persona 4 Golden is coming out the same week so I won't have time for a different RPG.

Yep, they confirmed that on the Playstation blog. You can add them to your Download list on the PS3, sit on them for a year or two (as long as your subscription doesn't lapse), then actually download the full games when you have a Vita to put them on.

They are not fucking around with this initial offering. I am really set to pick up a Black Friday bundle now.

#71 Posted by NapTimeSleeper (331 posts) -

I don't have a Vita but that selection of games seems great. I am especially interested in Gravity Rush.

#72 Edited by JasonR86 (9715 posts) -

I would be really irritated if I were a Vita owner who had bought those games at full-price at launch and not even a year later they are being given away for free with a subscription that costs the price of one of those games.

#73 Posted by MormonWarrior (2600 posts) -

This is...more than mildly amazing. That PS Vita may be worth picking up if this is any indication of how Plus is going to be.

#74 Posted by McShank (1629 posts) -

40' TV from bestbuy on Black friday and not it looks like a Vita Bundle also with Assassins creed since the uncharted game is on ps+, Awesome!

Patrick couldn't really see if this was clarified in the article but I'm curious. If I already have a PS + subscription for PSN on the PS3 does it carry over to the Vita or do I need to pay the $50 for a year again?

The impression I get is one PS Plus account works on both PS3 and Vita.

Plus is such a great feature. I hope Sony keeps it up, I think they're laying a lot of great foundation for their next generation consoles.

I'm 99% positive that the accounts carry over (i.e. you only need one to get plus across both devices).

Sony has joined Valve in terms of the best gaming deals around. For the foreseeable future I am a PC and Playstation gamer. Let's see subscribe to Playstation Plus for $50 a year and get access to tons of games and discounts and play PC games through Steam with ridiculous sales or pay Microsoft $60 a year to have the privilege of playing online... seriously fuck Xbox Live.

#78 Posted by ExcessDebris (146 posts) -

Wow. I have to agree with everyone else in this thread, but Sony is really hitting it out of the park with playstation plus. I've really liked having a vita even though I know it was kinda silly to buy one so early, but with the plus sub I already have for ps3 carrying over I couldn't be happier with Sony.

So heres a question about the free games. Are the free games advertised in the current deal free to play still once NEW games are added? Like, just recently ive seen inFamous 2 and DD Neon as free, but when PS changes the deal and switches to a NEW set of free games, can I still play inFamous and DD, or is it only while they are the current deal?

I just dont have time to play all the free games they offer if theyre only available for a limited time, but if i can download them and play them later as long as im subscribed, even if they arent the current deal, then thats damn enticing.

#80 Posted by AuthenticM (3739 posts) -

Both Uncharted and WipEout ? Damn Sony. I'm glad I am part of the PS Plus family. :)

As long as you "purchased" them by activating them on the Playstation Store when they are free you can play them as long as you are a Playstation Plus subscriber. For example when Stacking came out on PSN it was free for PS+. Since I was a PS+ member at the time and activated Stacking it is always tied to my PSN account so I can play and redownload it as long as I am a PS+ member no matter if the offer has expired or not.

Article doesn't mention the new browser or 1080p playback, but those are also very nice features. ;) And the other PS3 features for Plus, such as a 1GB cloud storage and automatic software update downloads (and trophy syncs), are also really useful for Vita (partly even more so). First of all you can't backup saves separately from Vita games currently, but have to backup the full game, which takes a loooong time. So this is a major improvement. And of course when you're on the road it's nice to have any updates for your games downloaded automatically the night before when the Vita was in the charger and in range of your fast WiFi, say.

Got a Vita for an early birthday present a few days ago. With Persona 4 Golden and PS+ coming out next week, I'm really excited!

No new monster hunter no thanks.

This. Seriously would like to play FFT. I probs just buy it now though. Also P3P for AUD $49.95 while its $9.95 on the US store. COME OOOOOOOOOOON.

#87 Posted by megalowho (969 posts) -

Sony is increasingly providing a much more useful and worthwhile pay service than what Microsoft is doing with Live Gold. Pretty good selection of games right there.

Ragnarok Odyssey is the closest thing we have to a new Monster Hunter on Vita right now, and I hear it's really good.

Man, heck of a list of games you get with the PS+ subscription! I already have the service on PS3, so this might be the thing that pushes me to pick up one of those Vita Black Friday bundles...this is the sort of thing Sony needs to do to get people to pick up their handheld. Good on ya, Sony.

I'd be thrilled that there might be people tempted to pick up the system so it's not a paperweight in two years. To each their own.

#91 Posted by AcidBrandon18 (753 posts) -

So how does this work if I don't have a constant internet connection on my Vita? Does it keep track of how long I have the downloads on a system level?

#92 Posted by Rekt_Hed (848 posts) -

Ohhh wow...this feeling ...is it....IT IS! I feel like I wanna own a vita! Congrats Sony. Freakin sweet deal.

ok now I gotta check out the price of the vita for sure

I had bought almost every game they gave away on PS+ for PS3 this year, I was pretty excited not to have to put the disc in the drive every time I want to play anymore though. Motorstorm Apocalypse was the only game I felt I had wasted money on, as I had bought it just a week before it became free, and I hadn't even had time to play it yet. Then it turned out not to be all that great either.

#95 Posted by Chris2KLee (2336 posts) -

I'm in, Vita could use some dusting off anyhow.

Oh, cool. In that case, that's an awesome deal.

#97 Posted by EthanielRain (854 posts) -

I wasn't real happy when I switched from 360 to PS3 a couple years ago (all my friends were on PS3)...but now I'm glad I did move into the Sony ecosystem. Sony has made PS+ fantastic, and I love the Vita. It could use more support from outside developers, but it's a great piece of hardware.

So I just have a quick follow up to that - do the games run without an internet connection? Or do you have to be logged into PSN for it to work? I'm asking how it works on PS3 as I assume the method will carry over ... and make the wifi PS Vita a tad annoying while travelling.

#99 Posted by Peanut (954 posts) -

Yeah, guys. This is totally THE reason to buy a Vita. Yup.

#100 Posted by BoringK (268 posts) -

Already own half of those, but getting Uncharted, JSR and FFT (again) will still be pretty cool.
