Platinum Games' sequel delivers nuanced, non-stop action that stands among the best in its genre.
Driveclub looks nice and has a couple of good ideas about handling leaderboard challenges, but the core of it--actually driving a car--drags the entire thing down.
It's been a while since the xenomorph was worth being scared of, and while Alien: Isolation runs a little long, it's a hellacious ride.
Mick Foley talks Wrestlemania moments, Daniel Bryan talks predictive beard technology, and Steve Austin crafts a pretty spectacular analogy for wrestling fame.
this should be fittingly awkward!
Austin 3:16 - "Brand that cow."
Let the terrifying conversations commence!!
No matter how awkward it might get, nothing will compare to the butt-clenching awkwardness that was the ultimate warrior interview.
Good stuff, Alex.
Always been a big Mick Foley fan and Stone Cold and Daniel Bryan seem like genuinely cool people too.
Always a pleasure to hear Austin. His podcasts are really good aswell.
I don't even watch wrestling and I thought that interview with Steve Austin was oddly captivating.
Daniel Bryan on Giant Bomb? I just squealed excitedly.
completely satisfied! great job Alex!
First great set of interviews here Alex. Quite awesome.
I didn't even know about the Steve Austin podcast. Just did a google search for it and listened to the 8/20 podcast. I think the beginning of that podcast was probably one of the most amazing things I've ever heard. If anyone hasn't checked it out. Definitely do so.
Great stuff, Alex.
Steve Austin sounds like a really genuine guy, surprisingly. Really cool to hear him.
YOU CAN SIT AROUND AND THUMP YOUR BIBLES, TALK ABOUT YOUR JOHN 3:16, BUT AUSTIN 3:16 SAYS I JUST BRANDED YOUR COW!
All these dudes seem like Awesome people to hang out with, Austin's podcast is great, Foley is an amazing genuine guy.
(Gets out Foley is God sign) Man, wrestling did used to be good. Stone Cold still has the passion.
My God. Thank you. I'll have to listen to more of his podcast.
Steve austin's podcast is amazing, and mick foley seems like a genuinely awesome guy. Glad alex did this!
YES YES YES YES YES
Stone Cold Steve Austin doesn't get heartbroken. He gets pissed off.
Great interviews Alex thanks.
Alex, I think you gotta let them in on the hair technology joke when asking wrestlers about it.
Like: Over the years, the improved rendering Triple-H's long, flowingm golden locks have been the measurement for graphic technology in wresting games. Has your awesome beard now become the new standard for video game hair?
Oh god, that was incredible.
Listen to the "texas road trippin" episode. It's a work of absolute genius.
Nice row of interviews!
I never once thought I would be intrigued with this Steve Austin interview - completely wrong - I'm Googling his podcast for the hell of it.
well this was just a joy
Anyone who enjoyed the Steve Austin segment should check out his podcast that he puts out. Some great interviews on there.
I may or may not have created this user name in the late 90's because of Stone Cold.
Great interviews Alex! Nice, I've got another podcast to listen to. The Steve Austin Show.
Stone Cold is great
Wow that was awesome. Cool feeling when Bryan said he'd most want to see the WM Ironman match in the game, since he was one of the guys who kind of brought back 60+ min. matches into modern wrestling in the states.
Steve Austin and Mick Foley have been consistently solid when it comes to any public appearances wrestling related or not. There's a reason Steve was bigger than the Rock for a period and why Foley has been around since seemingly the Gorgeous George era. Class acts. At least after that Debra Marshall incident.
Steve Austin kinda sounds like Vinny to me
Oh man I thought that first minute or 2 he was gonna go full Freight Train.
Mah boy, Dee Bry!
As a fellow journalist, I am really respecting you as an interviewer, Alex. I loved the conversation with Daniel Bryan. Definitely my favorite wrestler today. I'm such a mark sometimes I wonder if I could even interview guys like this without getting starstruck.
Oh man this was nostalgic. You're a natural at this, Alex. Thanks!
Haven't listened to this yet but I'm REALLY enjoying Alex's wrestling-oriented podcasts (like the debut PowerBombcast and the AM thing with Patrick the other day describing Alex's SummerSlam escapades). Hope there's a lot more of this in store for us!
Who would have thought that some of Giant Bombs best interviews were with wrestlers. Alex here and Jeff interviewing Sgt Slaughter.
If wrestling was a cow, I branded it. Genius.
I wish there was video of this
Oh my god, the description of that Sasquatch dream is something else.
Those are some pretty good wrestler interviews AAAAAAAAND I just subscribed to Steve Austin's podcast on iTunes.
Alex with the risky hair related question.
hey, pretty good stuff.
When I was a pre adolescent and really into wrestling I thought Steve Austin was the fucking shit. Cool that he's not a dick in the interview.
1st came VGCW.
2nd came Alex's interview with Warrior.
3rd came the Power Bombcast.
4th came me watching RAW for the first time in at least 8 or 10 years.
5th came Alex's set of Summer Slam interviews.
THIS NEEDS TO STOP!!!!!!!
I love hearing My Main Man D-Bry™ reminisce about 90s wrestling, because his taste was so much like my own. Awesome stuff, Alex!
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. That was absolute gold!
...a white submarine heading into the Bermuda Triangle!
The sheer amount of wrestling content on Giantbomb has reached dangerous levels.
