Thank god. I've been waiting for another Dota Podcast.

I'm going to go ahead and guess that you spell that Quaffahaubs.

Posted by T_wester

The Formula E sounds interesting.

Close you got the first 3 and the last 2 right its Quaife-Hobbs

Here's a pic that contains everything great about F1 of old. 1966, 90-100MPH, all four wheels of the ground driving one handed so you can pull the fingers at the cameraman.

Formula E sounds pretty awesome. It's got tweet-to-boosting?

That Liverpool game was fucking amazing.

When Danny says "Who's in the House," I think of this...

I do not know if Danny is expecting Drew to respond in the same way or not. It's possible I guess.

Posted by mbdoeden

I'm actually pretty excited at that Formula E announcement, if only to hear more Alt F1 podcasting action.

Posted by Pr1mus

@drewbert As a French Canadian, I understood some of those words!

Posted by tildebees

Formula E sounds hype as hell

Edited by WillBoWeird

Anyone excited for Le Mans? IT'S SOON!!!!

Posted by clush

I'm amazed Drew got the language of the outtro song right after hearing him take on French in the opening.

Alanis Morisette is in fact Canadian, by the way.

And 'interlull' cracks me up, but that's probably just because 'lul' means dick in Dutch. I pride myself on the fact that at 29 I still think that's hilarious.

Posted by pyrodactyl

So, after his career in F1 ended, Jaque Villeneuve tried music, no joke:

And yes, it's still real bad/hilarious if you understand french.

Posted by buzz_clik

@willboweird: No, but now I'm suddenly excited at the idea of playing LeMans on C64, one of the best racing games ever made! I miss the days where you'd control a car with a paddle. Related: I am old.

@pyrodactyl: WHAT. THE. MERDE.

I had no idea this was a thing. Fuggin' weird, yo.

@pyrodactyl: Goddamn it... i had managed to forget about this abomination.

Finally broke down and bought a used copy of F1 2013 on Amazon today. Really looking forward to getting a chance to try out the courses on the game.

I get to be that dick who knows a mistake you made. Anna Paquin is in fact from New Zealand, not Canada.

Posted by Hassun

The legend of Pastor Maldonado continues!

Posted by cooljammer00

Speaking of Emmanuelle Chriqui, I wonder if @drewbert has ever seen the film "100 Girls"? It's basically a teen sex comedy that tries to also be an overly philosophical film, but in that kinda shitty way college kids who take one mind blowing philosophy class get really into philosophy.

Posted by DukesT3

I bought TOCA when it was on the Xbox I think, I remember it having a story mode and thought the game was pretty badass. Loved what I played.

Posted by awwilliam

Formula E does sound crazy.

Ben Collins is the former stig from Top Gear.

Born in Canada.

It's kind of killing me that I could totally drive up to Montreal and see practice or qualifying if I really wanted to but I'll sensibly do so when I can with other people and enjoy the city.

TOCA and TOCA2 on ps1 were awesome racing games. You had to really fight for every position, such tight pack racing it was glorious. Those games got me watching BTCC for a few seasons.

Edited by Damodar

TOCA was totally rad. AND you could drive a tank and the horn button fired the gun. Yeah.

Also, Lisa Rogers fills the attractiveness quota entirely for Wales. Her and Timothy Dalton.

Edited by Jensonb

To confirm, Danny's right, 26 cars is the current maximum grid size. It has been bigger, like in the wild west period of the early 90s where it was 30 and when there were so many teams not even all of them got to take part in qualifying - there was a savage process known as Pre-qualifying to contend with for the less...ahem...let's be polite and say "established" teams like Andrea Moda

Posted by JamboGT

Oh god the pronounciations, tonnes of ex F1 and also rans who never made it, Formula E is going to be abysmal.

Posted by guyver0

What's with the disgusted tone in Drew's voice when he said Sandra Oh. I nearly spit out my cereal.

Edited by Ett

TOCA Touring Car <3 Play that so much on the psx. Love to see Danny and Drew play it on UPF or maybe a Encyclopedia Bombastica.

Was the Sony February 2013 presser with Eurovision style commentary archived somewhere? I've spent a few hours searching to no avail. Missing me Wogan

With the new powerfull ers power unit in 2014 Formula E sounds like they have just replaced the combustion engine with more battery packs and relaxed the aero regulations slightly.

Edited by Sessh

Of course Danny didn't know Christian Klien. I really hope another Austrian driver steps up anytime soon.

Posted by Ford_Dent

I am pretty intrigued by this Formula E lark. I hope it is up somewhere that I can stream it on my computer, seeing as how I am too cheap to buy cable television and the internet.

Formula E will catch on if done right, perhaps if it gets scheduled with F1 events rather than on it's own. In the same way; yesterday's TT Zero race has become popular for competitive sports electric motorbikes. The TT Zero race has quickly become an institution at the Isle Of Man and the bikes are amazing to watch.

Posted by MrProtagonist

Been to Wales. Can confirm Danny's comment.

Very stoked to be going to my 5th Canadian GP this weekend! Anyone else here going??

Edited by Cagliostro88

I'm an Inter Milan fan, and I watched the Instanbul final with a bunch of AC Milan fans. At half-time they were all pompously talking about the best way to reach the Duomo (the central square of the city where everybody goes to celebrate sport victories) and watching the absolute desperation unfold a few minutes later was hilarious. At the end of the game they were the saddest people i've ever seen (apart from actual tragedies)

Posted by cooljammer00

Been to Wales. Can confirm Danny's comment.

The only Welsh women I can think of are that chick from Torchwood and Catherine Zeta Jones, so you're like...probably half right?

Danny please keep the sporting trivia flowing, watching highlights of that football match was great!

Also this weekend is going to be AWESOME! Good to finally be back at an exciting circuit again.

Posted by gypopotamus

Kind of shameless promotion, but I started a YouTube series introducing people to each track before the race weekend! I thought it might help some people out who don't have the game and are new to F1!
