I totally respect Ryan, but his desire to try out all these crazy infomercial items, and having stuff like the hummingbird mask is starting leave ironic territory, and enter gullible American teritoy.

Early AND three hours?!?! Christmahanukwanzanalia in Spring!

And I tried using a neti pot...just moved all the phlegm to one nostril and did nothing else. Possibly due to my deviated septum...

This is the earliest of casts! I love it!

Early cast yaaay makes up for the late one last week I suppose.

Real Earlycast: Still easily Tuesday. Normally I listen on Wednesdays.

Love the new Bombcast art! Totally losing it at Brad saying it's weird he and Brad Muir have the same name. :D

What a treat!

THIS IS MADNESS.

As the designer of the new bombcast art, I welcome all reactions of praise and/or disgust.

Hella early!

Am I missing something? Brad and Patrick act like Dead Island was going to be a full proper sequel. I don't even follow video games that closely and I knew it was not a completely new game. They knocked Tomb Raider for not really following the marketing yet they can't follow the marketing on Dead Island Riptide. smh.

It's Tuesday!

It actually is tuesday.

Shoutouts to more fighting game talk!

Also, for anyone interested Iron Galaxy just announced a NEW dive kick character monday. Jefailey, every time he wins a round, his head gets bigger and bigger, filling with hot air and making his personal gravity lower. I cant remember his specials off the top of my head, but he is pretty nutso.

Edited by seintsu

Thank you so much! I usually have to wait until a heavy days work is done before i get this. It's so nice to be able to listen to a bit this before that.

Edited by mlarrabee

I just listened to the entirety of last week's Bombcast. Do you mean to tell me that I can download this week's episode during my lunch hour and continue the adventure this afternoon?!

Beautiful madness!

EDIT: Oh, and Ryan? Try to not get brain-consuming bacteria from that Nasti-pot.

Posted by evanbower

It seems like Patrick has a hard time describing a game without boiling it down to being either impenetrable or mindless, which seems like something that might be the result of trying to "get" a game within a few hours so you can talk about it.

Trick for eyedrops is drop is next to the eye and let it roll in from the side. Totally overcame my inability to use eye drops.

Well it is 50 dollars, so should your opinion of the game change based on it "not being a full release" even though it costs basically as much?

Everyone, let's comment on how early this bombcast is!

Edited by Luck702

Naegleria fowleri, (Brain Amoeba) has a 98% mortality rate. The more you know.

Also, I had to stare at a laser that cut flaps into the lenses of my eyes at 18. Get on my level bombcrew.

In the interest of escalation, I want to see Ryan or Jeff use a neti pot filled with breast milk at the next PAX panel.

The trick with the eye drops is to land them in the inner corner of the eye, it doesn't seem as sensitive so you don't tear up but maybe it's just me.

Posted by Sarumarine

Alright, let's do this. I want a video of Jeff vs. Patrick on Yoshi's Island. I don't even care who wins. I just want to see that conversation.

Eve is not called a "spreadsheet game" because the overview has two rows that you can filter and sort.

It might be called that because one of the first things you do is to hook your API key into various third party programs to analyse your ship loadouts, spendings, earnings, volumes of items you moved on the market when and where, current research and production times, skill plans, ...

Then you have corps and alliances with hundreds or thousands of people organized into divisions for PvP, PvE, mining, reasearch, various stages of production, logistics, strategy and diplomacy, budgets for ship replacement programs for your loyal members losing their hard earned ships in wars, ... each with their own organization scheme of unit directors, committees and what have you.

And just like in real life, you will have a BUNCH of spreadsheets to keep track of it all. Heck, we had timekeeping spreadsheets in the mining division to keep track of people's mining times so everyone would get allotted their fair share of the ore at the end of the month. And spreadsheets to keep track of mined minerals. And spreadsheets to calculate ore values based on current mineral prices in various market hubs. And spreadsheets to determine which types and how much mineral needs to go to capital and other production lines. Fuel consumption for the logistics fleet and POS upkeep. ...

Anyway, that's why I think it's called a spreadsheet game. That and maybe the kind of passive/indirect gameplay.

@brad Just do the last mission of WoL on normal or even easy so you can play single player HoTs, then go back and get those achievements when you have time.

@fiberpay: What do you mean with a full release?

It's a complete stand-alone game, more of the same monotonous gameplay the original had.

Posted by Dark_Lord_Spam

Every time I use a neti pot, I feel like something real rotten is gonna happen with that hot saline water. Like it'll find its way into the back of my head to scour my brain-stem or something.

I don't think I've laughed so hard listening to a podcast. You guys are killing me!

They act like this game was suppose to be Dead Island 2. But clearly it has been marketed as exactly what it is. Hell even on their website on the main page it says that riptide is not a sequel to dead island.

Edited by RE_Player1

100% agree with Jeff about Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. Terrible art style, annoying ass characters and calling it a sequel to Super Mario World is a spit in the face.

If they are going to be influence based on how Tomb Raider was marketed, then the way Dead Island Riptide was market should also be talked about. They act like this game was going to be Dead Island 2. It was never marketed as that, they have been very adamant about it not being a sequel, yet Brad reviewed it as one. I think the fact that it was $50 should be taken into account, along with the marketing of this game.
