Cable companies subsidizing the Xbox One hasn't made any sense as a thing that could happen since we found out it wasn't a cable box at the reveal, yet I still keep hearing about it.

If Xbox Live is another thing that cable companies can use to sell you a bundle or better yet, a 2 year internet service contract, then it makes sense.

In their world, they call them interns.

Cable companies don't sell Xbox Live, and no human being exists that has no internet and is going to buy an Xbox bundled with some internet package in this nonsensical deal. There is no benefit to the cable company in this scenario, it makes as much sense as thinking the cable company would subsidize you buying a new TV with a cable subscription. They'd just be giving you money for no reason.

I like how Brad still remembers his modem being infested by ants so clearly. You can tell it traumatized him.

Sometimes we look upon the stars and see the face of the universe, and the universe looks back and says "make me some macaroni & cheese" and then you do it but use too much pepper and you get sent to hell and back only to learn that maybe you shouldn't use so much pepper next time.

You can't ever use too much pepper in mac and cheese. In fact, go dice up some actual peppers and throw them shits in there along with the fresh ground black or cayenne powder or whatever else you were using already.

Can't get enough pepper.

You're a mad man.

I stand with the giant bombcast!

Just started The Last of Us, when do they start talking about it so I can skip it?

Can`t wait to listen to this! I get strange looks on the train when I start laughing but I don`t care...it`s totally worth it!

They spend like three minutes talking about it, and it's really not anything that could possibly be a spoiler, so you're good. I suspect we won't get any substantial conversation about that game on the bombcast at all.

The bomb squad be crazy. The bumpers on the 360 controllers are hot garbage. As bad as the triggers on the PS3, maybe worse. The L1 and R1 buttons are great though as are the LT and RT triggers on 360.

@marokai: Thanks man. They are usually good about not saying much, just wanted to be sure.

time to start the giant bomb arcade in San Fran

Here in Ontario, there are only two government run places that can sell alcohol (aside from bars obviously):

The beer store and the LCBO (liquor control board of ontario).

Both of these stores close at 9 pm. It's fucking terrible.

@brad I found a rat skeleton (no flesh) in the SF2 machine I bought....

What? The bumpers on the 360 controller are great. I really like how you just have to slight tap them. Works really well for the purpose they have been assigned in most games.

I have respect for Eazy-E, he grew up in the ghettos and worked to get where he was but guys, lets be honest, Eazy-E never was that good of a rapper.

That would be a fucked up way to die, pinned to the ground by an arcade cabinet. The headlines would be like "VIdeo games do kill people!" or "He loved video games so much that it killed him"

I switch it up between Civ 5 and XCOM.

And yeah, resistance is futile.

Animal Crossing absolutely fits into the 'what am I doing with my life' genre of video games.

I think the bumpers and shoulder buttons are pretty much the same. I do like how the 360 bumpers are slightly more prominent though. I think the PS3 shoulder buttons are a bit too touchy, not enough travel distance.

Vinnys little sidebar on lemon ice reminded me of lemon chill. We sold a holy metric fuckload of those at Great America in Chicago in the mid 90s. It was like printing money.

and i dunno, i just dont see the whole grimness that people are getting with last of us.

excellent game, excellent story, but it not as affecting as im hearing how it got to people.

i thought walking dead was more depressing and more fatal than last of us, that game haunted me more.

I think the grimness in The Last of Us is way more subtle, as you usually have to extrapolate a lot about the characters. That affected me way more, though.

Posted by ShiroGamer

Could some one tell me if anything they discus about The Last of Us is spoilerific?

I agree that The Walking Dead hit a lot of the same beats way harder than Last of Us, particularly the ending.

Maybe it's because the Last of Us has much more realistic graphics that some people are able to "get into it" a lot more than TWD.

I don't know what the fuck is going on in San Francisco but there are absolutely still beer guys at baseball games.

Posted by CharAznable

I loved the "this shit is crazy" discussion in the second half of the episode, and how the Xbone stuff ranks among other wild news items from the past. I've been waiting for Jeff's full analysis.

@vinny I totally get what you're saying about the frozen treats served in little cups, with the wooden spoon thing. It's "water ice" here in Philly, but I guess "Italian ice" is the usual. Is the brand you couldn't think of called Marino's?

Classic Bombcast. This is some 2008 shit.

I was at a Tampa Bay Rays game last April and I can confirm that baseball stadiums still have beer guys. Good podcast as always.

Unless you think the revelation that The Last of Us can be fucking depressing is a spoiler, you will be fine.

Probably when the Wii U stops being "Ugh..." I say this as a Wii U owner.
