I haven't seen Mexi-Melts on a Taco Bell menu in about 10 years but I still order them. I still order them.

Giant Quakecast! I live in New Zealand and we get a tonne here. I've been told that the doorway thing has been debunked and you're better off jumping under a desk or a table.

Earthquakes are fun, except when people die.

The State of California agrees. (from their earthquake myths page):

The safest place to be in an earthquake is under a doorway. That's true only if you live in an unreinforced adobe home. In a modern structure the doorway is no stronger than the rest of the building. Actually, you're more likely to be hurt (by the door swinging wildly) in a doorway. And in a public building, you could be in danger from people trying to hurry outside. If you're inside, get under a table or desk and hang on to it

Yeeeeah...I think this is finally the point where I start getting the premium podcast. These hulu bits aren't so humorous.

After hearing Dan's story I am EVEN more convinced that he is secretly trying to kill us all

Let's all just remember than "Irish Car Bomb" is a super offensive name for a drink.

But, if you are going to do it, don't do it halfway. Do Terrorisms:

Btw, the successor to Woot is Meh. That's right, Meh.

Let's get naked!

The Diablo changes sound a bit like the stuff in Path of exile.

I fucking love that Dan turned out to have a slightly different palette of games than the rest of the crew. It really helps the conversations not turn into echo chambers.

The time is now, I have finally upgraded to premium. Also, the podcast has been absolutely incredible for a while now. I'm always happy for more stories of Dan's very ... "unique" misadventures.

"They have anime!"

"Oh ya? I hear that's for cool people."
Well, played Brad, haha

Edited by Draxyle

I love me some Metal Gear, but it's preeetty much anime. I'd argue that's what makes it great though, as it keeps the game from being just another gritty one-man-army, 80's action movie ripoff. If you removed Psycho Mantis, Grey Fox, Rex, or other such things from the story.. I don't think we'd still be talking about the franchise.

As someone whose father is a geophysicist, I can confirm the above. Futhermore, if you're going to get under something, make sure it's a pretty sturdy table. Generally, the main rule is to get away from anything that could fall off of a wall onto your head, and specifically away from windows. The likelihood of the roof collapsing, or anything of that nature, is relatively small in places where earthquakes happen regularly, as building codes have been established that require new buildings to be reinforced against anything medium-sized. The 6.1 in SF may have torn up some streets and broken some windows, but that's why it didn't cause a lot of major structural damage.

Dan, wrestling is live action anime, you definitely like anime.

Twitch.tv allows you to stream non-game content too. Steve Aoki streamed at least one DJ set with Twitch's support, giving him the front page.

The loot thing during the D3 talk - it's because you level up so fast.

Also re: Bulletstorm, it was "I'll kill your dick"

Kentaco Hut isn't a thing here either. I have seen Kentucky Bell (Or Taco Fried Chicken)

...Dan's whole family is the same. My God. Also I feel bad for anyone who didnt have the internet by late 99.

You would think after 2 cataloged brushes with death (the electrical outlet, and the tornado) Dan would stop drinking so much. I find it funny that he didn't but man hes burning through his lucky close calls.

Posted by Leadcat

I'm sorry Dan but Metal Gear is about as anime as it gets.

Edited by Substance_D

@leadcat: No! Dan assumes he hates anime!

I'm planning to play through the MGS series before Phantom Pain. I've only finished Twin Snakes in the past. I've seen very little anime, but judging by all of Snake's awkward flirting and the close up of Meryl's butt as she run in Part 1 of Metal Gear Scanlon, the series does seem to have the same qualities I dislike about most anime shows.

@selbie: Drew briefly talked about not being able to play Star Citizen last week because it took too long for him to set up his flight stick.

Maybe for the front page, but Twitch gave stream permission back to a music producer called "she", he streams from his production software.

Metal Gear Solid is anime as all fuck Dan. You just have to accept it man.

Edit: Dan saying Metal Gear Solid as a series is the best videogame story ever? Dude, no. I love me some metal gear solid (except for when 2 just got way too ridiculous for me) but I can't go with Dan on that claim.

Sega Saturn had a modem add on at launch which I made my parents buy me for what was probably a fortune back then. That shit never worked for a game and the company that was the recommended to use never worked either. How ever dialing up to verizon internet worked and let me view non flash sites.

You guys are tremor noobs (yes, c'mon, under 7 it's a tremor). Here in Chile, we get the real deal.

Honestly, 6.0 is like nothing around here, but guess you guys don't build for it either, so that explains how fatal a rather small quake can be around there.

Also, unless your house was built in a very specific way, standing in a doorway isn't the safest way to go. If it gets really bad, normally ducking under a sturdy table is best.

Also, I actually really like MGS, and I have played all of them, but NO Dan. MGS has a dumb ultra anime plot, comparable to something like Xenosaga (Xenosaga being the less bullshitty game). So much that between ZOE and MGS, Zone of Enders is Kojima's least anime game.

Also, MGS4 and Ground Zeroes went so far up their own tasteless asses that I'm actually questioning if I play MGS5.
