Get all cozy with a nice, piping-hot 40, and join us for some heated conversation about our experiences with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Saints Row: The Third, RAGE, Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, and much more!
This week and next week are sure to be some of the craziest for you guys. Then again, GOTY right around the corner! Those 5 hour podcasts never get old.
So...what's with iTunes no longer having a thumbnail? I know you might be prepping a 200x200 version of this great new picture, but nothing? I guess I'll paste the old one on.
You know, I honestly think they should change Uncharted's direction completely. It had a really damn good run as a 3rd person shooter, but they really need to scale that back. I haven't played the 3rd one yet, but the second one brings up something that I think they shouldn't have because they didn't go into much detail. Drake, while a loveable everyday guy, is still going around killing more people than the Black Death.
Instead, they should really focus on the puzzle-platforming Indiana Jones stuff. Investigating ruins, solving puzzles, doing some really elaborate platforming (like in a few places in the second game) and every now and again have a really good gunfight against a dozen or so guys - much like the bar gunfight in the beginning of Raiders. Sprinkle some fisticuffs in there and you'll have something really special.
They clearly have the writing chops and actors to give incredible performances. They should just make it a really good, character-driven puzzle-platformer with some action beats thrown in. There's really no need to hold on to the 3rd person shooting stuff any more. It may not be as exciting to most people, but I would love to play a solid game like that with the Uncharted cast. They can even make it a "side story" game that doesn't conflict with the "main games" or whatever, leaving that option open if the puzzle-platforming stuff doesn't do as good.
