I guess the reason I'm struggling to see e-sports as a valid thing even tough I spend most of my time (ok, all of my time) playing video games and enjoying competitive games on the side occasionally is because the general consensus of gaming since I've started playing games has been that it's a waste of time and that I'm wasting my time playing them. Which might be a valid statement, in comparison to sports gaming for long hours isn't healthy and you don't improve physically but seeing them grow like this, being told gaming is childish and looked down upon as a hobby and on people who play them for the better part of my life, it's going to take a while for me to outgrow these notions and accept games as part of our lives.
