So i have played Pokemon since red and blue.
In all this time i have NEVER found a shiny =( (red Gyarados doesn't count :P )
Can any one give me some tips on how to find them? It would be much appreciated :)
Pokémon Black/White
Game » consists of 8 releases. Released Mar 06, 2011
Pokémon Black and White are the fifth generation of Pokémon games for the Nintendo DS. Both introduce several new game play innovations to the series including a more complex battle system, fully-animated 3D models and environments, extensive online integration, and a refresh of the entire selection of Pokémon.
never found a shiny
There really is no advice to give you sadly, finding a shiny pokémon is a 1 in 8192 chance so just keep fighting!
I've been playing since red and blue as well, (although I've played almost constantly as well which might help) and I've only ever found 2 shiny pokémon, a shiny Zigzagoon which I caught only because it was shiny, and last generation I managed to breed a shiny Turtwig.
It's pure luck really :/
Download pokemon gold/silver for an emulator, then use a gameshark code to make all wild pokemon shiny.
Boom.
" @Soap: 1 in 8192! haha thats ummm... ok haha il keep looking! "And that doesn't mean on the 8192 you'll get it either. That's 1 in 8192 chance every single time. Pretty crazy.
First and perhaps only time that I saw a shiny (not 100% sure) was when I met a shiny Hoothoot at the beginning of Gold. Super annoying seeing as it was in the early game, before I had access to any pokeballs.
I caught a shiny diglett in pokemon firered, I caught it because the nose was blue...at the time I didn't know what shiny was and just thought it was a "special pokemon" so I kept searching for more abnormal colored monsters....never again did it occur.
Are there any alternate shinies? I could of sworn back in G/S I had a shiny that wasn't normal colored, nor the same as one some people had online.
" What the fuck is a shiny? "Shiny Pokemon, it's here on the site!
I know a few ways for y'alls. First of all, use the Pokeradar in Diamond/Pearl/Platinum. Chaining the same type of Pokemon a bunch of times makes it much more likely for you to catch a shiny.
...well, maybe not MUCH more... but you'll see a shaking section of grass that's got a sparkle on it, that one's shiny.
Second is the Matsuda Method. for this, you have to utilize the GTS. Get a Pokemon from another region (I'm talking real world- so get a Pokemon from Japan if you're in the US, for example) and BREED. This cuts the rate into something like a 4th of the usual rate, but that's still a 1/2000 chance, and eggs are a bother to hatch.
I'd recommend a ditto, since anything breeds with those.
" Don't worry about it, dude. Do you really wanna be this guy?Oh man, that guy is my hero.
"
I actually got really lucky and managed to catch a shiny Tympole right at the beginning of Pokemon Black, I love it so much that I'm letting it rot away in a PC box of it's own.
*saving* "YEAH YEEAAAAAAHHH*
"I got a new shiny for ya, here it is!
SHINY PONYTA EVERYBODY THANKS FOR WATCHING"
"... and time to finally move on to a new hob-"
Thanks for sharing that video.
" I caught a shiny Tentacool in Gold. That was such a good day. "
I got a shiny Tangela. What randomness, you know?
I heard a rumor that they did have better stats, was that just bogus?
I found a shiny Ponyta. That was it. And I got mystery gifted a shiny Entei and Suicune from heartgold.
The whole 8000-1 odds means that I will probably never see a shiny pokemon in this generation since there are only 156 new pokemon to catch, and I generally level up my pokemon on trainers, not wild pokemon. Even with ev training I doubt I'll hit that number of encounters before I get my team fully trained and go online with them.
I seen this video a while back and man this guy is amazing. ***The reason the video looks that way is because I'm on my mac :(***" @iAmJohn said:

I'd never heard about shiny pokemon until HeartGold and SoulSilver came out, and I for some reason became interested in Pokémon again, and stumbled upon that Ponyta video.
I just wish it would have ran away when the guy tried to catch it... You have to admit his reaction would have been priceless, or maybe just depressing, we will never know...
I think I found one shiny in silver but I got a load in Diamond and found some in heart gold so perhaps they will also be easier to find in black/white.
Chaining gets easy once you follow the rules strictly you can get them in an hour or two and once you see the shiny pokemon of your choice you can get more! I have like 8+ shiny spoinks! There is also another method called the "masuda method" named after the programer? of the games. You need two different language pokemon to breed ex. jap and french or eng and german and so on, it raises the regular ratio to 1 in 2048!
To everyone who doesn't understand why you'd want a shiny pokemon...
Look at my avatar. Then look back at your Charizard.
That's really all you have to do to understand it.
