Pokémon Black and White are the fifth generation of Pokémon games for the Nintendo DS. Both introduce several new game play innovations to the series including a more complex battle system, fully-animated 3D models and environments, extensive online integration, and a refresh of the entire selection of Pokémon.
I got White because since the beginning of Pokemon, my brother has always gotten whichever version is listed first (e.g., Red, Gold, Black, etc.) and I've gotten the second (e.g., Blue, Silver, White, etc.).
I wonder what the sales split will look like on this. We'll probably never know, but it wouldn't surprise me if the margin here is significantly wider than any of the other games.

That seems kinda shortsighted. I can get someone to trade me all the pokemon that you can find in the White forest. But you can't be traded an entire city, or whatever unique things are found/earned in it.
I went black; If not only because it's a dark color, but because for whatever reason I've always picked the first version listed in each set of games. (Red for 1st gen, Gold for 2nd, Ruby and FireRed for 3rd, Diamond and HeartGold for 4th.)
