Looks like regular Pokemon, but with more out-there character designs.

Probably, which makes me wonder if we'll ever see it here. Then again, it's Pokemon so perhaps we will.

Wait, the game is coming out in spring 2012? It was just announced. How are they gonna complete that in 3-6 months?

They probably started the development earlier.

No clue what that ambition game is.

That being said, I'm blindly excited by the possibilities.

They're trying something different?

Hell yeah, I'm all for it. Then again, I'm all for most of the main Pokemon games that they crank out (none of that spin off stuff).

Can't say the character art does much for me, but the Pokemon still look like Pokemon. Weird how it's not a 3DS game though.

I could swear I watched a quick look of a Nobunaga game right here.

My first reaction was like "what the..."

Looks like the gameplay is Pokemon Tactics, but it's hard to tell from those screenshots.

I guess pumping out traditional Pokemon RPGS too quickly would make fatigue set in that much more quickly, but every time I see Pokemon spin-off games, I cringe and think about what could be getting to me that much more quickly.

Damn I thought they were going to make Persona X Pokemon from the thread title. I mean that is surely the obvious cross over.

I know I've heard the name "Nobunaga's Ambition" somewhere before, but I have no fucking clue what the games are about. That said, it's Pokémon, it's on DS, I'll get it if it comes out in the US/EU.

Nobunaga's Ambition is a long-running strategy game series. The first game was actually Koei's very first video game release. Only a select few entries have been released in the U.S., though. The most recent game that I own is Nobunaga's Ambition: Iron Triangle on the PS2, but there have been other entries made since then. The whole point of the game is to select a force, build your power base, form alliances, and defeat rivals to gain control over Japan. It's similar in some ways to the Romance of the Three Kingdoms series.
