These remakes of the classic Game Boy games, Pokémon Red and Blue, bring many of the improvements made to the Pokémon formula back to the Kanto region.

Pokemon LeafGreen and FireRed are remakes of the old Pokemon Red and Blue games dating all the way back to the original Game Boy. These new remakes do a good job of updating these classics and restore memories in the truest of Pokemon fanboys.

Just like the original story, you start off as just a boy in Pallet Town, who meets Professor Oak who gives him his very own Pokemon to battle with. Along with that a Pokedex which records all seen and caught Pokemon. You can just keep finding and catching Pokemon and raise and train yours to challenge Gym Leaders and eventually the Elite Four!

The graphics have also been updated to fit the hardware of the GBA, and they look quite nice. The music fares well also, bringing back many old tracks and adding new ones as well. After defeating the Elite Four, you can explore new areas to find Pokemon not available in Kanto. These are the Pokemon that were created after Red and Blue were released. You can play with your friends too, trading and battling your Pokemon just like always.

From raising and battling your Pokemon, to catching em all, Pokemon LeafGreen/FireRed is a great emulation of Red/Blue, the true Pokemon classics.
