The direct sequel to Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. This sequel will include new features and will enhance on old features from Diamond and Pearl.

Overview

Information about the changes made for the Platinum remix of the Diamond/Pearl storyline is scattered at the time of writing. What is known however is that the adventure is set to feature the Legendary Pokémon Giratina more heavily in it's "Origin" form along with it's link to a new area currently dubbed the "Torn World". Another new form is also meant to arrive for the Pokémon Shaymin, which in Diamond/Pearl is only available from Nintendo events.

From the information provided from Serebii.net, the title features new locations within the game's location of Sinnoh to explore, plus the new area of the Torn World, located above Spear Pillar. This location can be seen below, and is rendered to really show off the 3D game engine. The title features a new "Sky form" of legendary Pokémon Shaymin.

Pokémon Platinum’s brand new story has some notable differences from Diamond/Pearl’s. Prof. Rowan is an expert on Pokémon evolution who has come to the Sinnoh area from Kanto.
