Okay so today I was with two of my friends and we started talking about Pokemon and how we all used to play it on the Gameboy. We all have the Red version and haven't played it in years. So we decided to have a little bet first one to get every Pokemon available wins $30 dollars from the other two. BUT, when I went home and pulled out my game and Game Boy and found that I actually had my previous save and every Pokemon. The counter shows 74:25 hours played. So I'm still going to start again for the bet, but i am wondering if I'm crazy. Would you start again?

I'd start it again just for fun if my Gameboy still worked. Red/Blue are still the best games in the series.

No. I got Blue a few days ago and I hate it. It's all nostalgia, those games suck.

    This.

I'd be all over playing Blue again if I still had it.

Indeed he is. I played again recently and had a blast... mainly because the most recent games aren't even that drastically different (in the battles, anyway), so it didn't feel as dated as something from that era should. Fun game, plus when you want to just screw around with a completed file, that game had some... interesting glitches that my 7-8 year old self could find.

I disagree, while I loved Blue more than my family, those 2 are by no means the best in the series. They are the starting point, good games, but Gold and Silver are easily better games.

This is pretty much the truth. It's nearly impossible to go back and play Red/Blue after playing Gen II and III. If you want to relive the magic, play FireRed and LeafGreen.

Don't need no bet for me to play some Pokemans, especially the originals.

The only thing that bothers me about the original games after playing the newer ones, is the lack running shoes. The bike works but isn't quite as useful.

Easily.  Heck I would restart without a bet.  But to be paid to play the game again would be AWESOME!!!

I'd wait a while, then show that save to my friends and win the bet.

But seriously, I could never erase a pokemon save game. It's probably because when I was little, my cousin erased my save that had 142 pokemon on it. I was sulking for days.  A truly traumatizing experience for any kid my age, for sure.  I still haven't forgiven him.

@JJWeatherman: Okay true, I've been spoiled by those shoes. I remember the trading card game game boy game (AAAAH!) had a run button before the main games had them and it frustrated the hell out of me.

I would, but I would contemplate my achievement and cry myself to tears before creating a new game.

lol. That's probably why they require a button combo at the title screen to erase a previous save file now.

I would start a new game, but I just need to buy another GameBoy pack for the N64 so I can trade the good ones from the copy I'd restart.
