I found a really awesome bracket generator that is also editable. We will be using this to sign up and keep the bracket going. Players can report their own scores (if there is a conflict/cheat it can be brought up in this thread. This is the tournament (when more than 16 players register it will crate a wait list at which point if there are a lot of people we can switch to double elimination). Adding this info to the first post now.

I am sooo down for this, been EV training since I beat it and getting some team options ready.

I don't think I'll be ready come registration time. I'm hoping this goes well so I can get in next time around.

So down for this. I wish I could show off some of my older Pokemon but it might be fun to build a new team too. Hopefully I'm done in time, because I don't even bother with natures in the course of the campaign, so using those particular dudes probably won't go so well.

I usually don't spend much time on the forums around here, but the idea of a tournament sounds really appealing to me. I got pretty into the IDEA of competitive battling last gen, but mostly to the end of fighting my friends, so it would be pretty neat to have a place for this kind of thing.

But yeah, with no transfer yet, all my breeding Pokemon are stuck on the old DS, so it would be pretty hard to get something together that are up to my old (admittedly lame) standards.

This is going to be awesome! And just to clarify, by 12 AM on the 20th you mean tonight, right?

Don't sweat the readiness levels! The game is still new so everyone's got a shot more or less.

Man, I'm really tempted to do this -- have only had time to breed 1 pokemon so far but if it's allowed I think I could body anything with just this one honestly. ;) By no legendaries, are we talking official or things deemed "uber" from other leagues/tiers?

I'm not incredibly active here, mostly lurking and checking the main site. That being said, I'm 14 hours in, only defeated half the gyms, have a somewhat lame team put together and just a couple hours to play each day? I'm going to get creamed, but it should be fun!

Active really just means that you didn't sign up on the site just for the tournament, don't worry.

I actually don't really know how to do the crazy training stuff works but I have signed up anyway and will join if there is room.

Shit, didn't make it in time. Probably for the best, my single player team doesn't look anything like the one I would make for competitive play.

I was just messing around with the settings so if anyone got an email saying they were wrongfully waitlisted or something don't worry. I've expanded the tournament to 18 players since we had 2 on the waitlist already. As it stands there will have to be byes and nearly everything will be randomly shuffled before the actual start of the season.

DarthOrange and Wess will be put in the qualifying round as they signed up after the original 16. They will have to face randomly chosen opponents.

So I need to PM you my team by the 23rd? Because I'm still putting stuff together, so I want to make sure how long I have.

I thought this might go without saying or it may be in the rules that I didn't read but no evasion increasing moves or one hit ko's right?

I only bring it up because I was hit with "sheer cold" by a lapras last night and was reminded they even exist.

@masterwgs: You can if you want, but the season will not start the day registration closes (I'll announce more details once registration is finished and we know how many people will participate). You can also send me your team during the period between the start of the season and end of registration. Whatever works for you! But once you send me your team that's it, no changes.

I am really excited to see how this pans out. Gonna start putting a team together for a future season.

I'll try to get it done sometime within the next few days. I'm already pretty busy breeding, haha. I know it wouldn't give much time to read the guide before the tournament itself, but I guess it's better late than never.

The season start date will be determined once registration is over (you guys will have a heads up). You can send me your team now or later, as long as it is before the tournament start. As for breeding and such, check the spoiler in the first post. At the bottom I linked to a bunch of guides.

@thamilkman Anything goes this season except for legendaries and the fact that you can't have duplicate Pokemon and/or items. We will introduce regulations once we see how balanced (or not) the community is.

2 people are on the wait list with names that are not GB accounts. Who are you? If we can't figure you out then you may not end up in the tournament.

So when we pm you our teams should we give you their move lists as well? I am new to this whole pokemon tournament thing but are people allowed to change moves, or items, in between opponents?

@sheeana: No move lists or item lists, we're gonna see how that turns out first. In between opponents if you want to change a move that is up to you. If we find after this season that it ruins the strategy as well as the spectator element, we'll introduce balance restrictions.
