The Political Machine 2008 is a U.S. presidential election campaign manager simulation, which puts players in charge of organising and running a major campaign for a candidate of your choice. You can choose candidates from either of the two main political parties, or create your own candidate from the
character creation tool. The aim of the game is to campaign successfully in enough states to gain the 270 electoral college votes on election day necessary to win the presidency. In order to do this, along the way you will have to organise speech appearances, create advertisements, win endorsements and generally keep your campaign running smoothly - whilst at the same time competing with the opposing party's candidate on a wide range of issues in a battle to win over undecided voters.

The game also features a character creation tool which allows players to create a presidential candidate and edit their appearance, traits, political party and other information in an effort to become the next president of the United States.
