    My friend wants Portal 1. If anybody still has the free copy of Portal 1 that came with the Steam preorder of Portal 2 and doesn't know what to do with it, he would love to get it.

    Oh, they were. Then they got even worse when Valve gave out the giftable copies from the Valve Complete Pack. I try to make a habit of not going there...horrible place.

    This is why I love GiantBomb.  I'm trying to actually purchase a Steam code for Portal 1 for a coworker who has never played it over at GameTZ.com and have received virtually no response.

    I'm guessing there are reasons you're not going through the direct Steam route?

    I was going to gift my free copy with preorder of the sequel to a friend to see if she liked it and get her into games but was given my friend's free with a PS3 copy so no luck there for now. If anyone's still offering... (got I hate that I'm doing this....)

    My coworker doesn't even have Steam, but he was asking me about the ads for Portal 2 and that's how I learned that he never played the first one.  So I'm trying to spread the Portal love and get my hands on a code for the first one.  I'll tell him to go make a Steam account, enter the code and enjoy.  He has a couple kids and doesn't really have the time to keep up on gaming so I keep him up to date.  Until recently he only had a Wii so I sold him my launch 360 super cheap just so he could play some decent games.
