Too expensive for too little
I've just finished my first play though of Portal 2 and I'm feeling a bit ripped off, especially considering I only bought it today and it cost €50. It took me around five hours to complete (the Steam clock says "4 hours" but I think I was playing it for a bit longer than that).
The game itself doesn't really go in the direction I was hoping for in the sequel, opting more for comic moments and witty dialogue rather than fiendish puzzles and mind-bending level construction. The Source engine also looks quite dated (played on MAX settings at 1680x1050 at a solid 60fps) and while the slap of paint to the visuals is welcomed, it's not really necessary. All Valve had to do was to make loads of well crafted Portal levels... ...that's all I was looking for. Instead they made a lot less levels and sold it for nearly three times the price. When I say "a lot less levels" I'm referring to the different levels of difficulty of each level found in the original Portal. Portal 2 is missing this vital replay-value feature (or I just haven't found it yet and I've been looking, believe me).
Again, I'm feeling ripped off. This game would have been worth the money if it was €20 but €50 is just too much as has left a bad taste in my mouth for completing it on the day of purchase. I would console myself with the co-op game but I don't want to ask anyone I know to buy this as they'd blame me for being ripped off too.
Portal 3 - Leave the visuals alone and just concentrate on making LOADS of levels.
EDIT: I've also just learned that if you buy the PS3 version, you get the PC version for free ( http://www.giantbomb.com/shrink-wrap-tuesday-part-02-portal-2/17-4037/)
