    Power of Friendship

    Concept »

In a number of games, characters often talk about friendship and the importance of friends, some sacrificing themselves for one another.

    Short summary describing this concept.

No recent wiki edits to this page.

    Overview

Numerous Japanese RPGs promote friendship in some way or another. However, the concept is not limited to Japanese RPGs, but is also commonly found in other Japanese genres such as dating sims and visual novels, as well as some more recent Western RPGs such as Mass Effect.

Some Japanese games subvert the trope by having best friends become bitter enemies, such as Double Dragon, Final Fantasy IV, Suikoden II, Yakuza, Tales of Vesperia, and anime-based games like Gundam Seed and Code Geass.
