Why no third party candidate?

Anyone have any ideas of why there aren't any third party candidates as in previous elections?

(Also note we have a Presidential Candidate Forum, it'd be nice if all that stuff would be here)

Yes, we should post all those politics stuff in here, so people that don't live in america aren't annoyed by it.

I wasn't aware there wasn't a third party. Usually they just come up out of the blue don't they. It seriously is a waste of money though. I price they pay to get their ideas out though.

There are. But none of them have a realistic chance of winning - the best they can hope for is being recognized for winning a couple percentage points, which in itself is not very likely.

Maybe I should ask why the media is hardly giving any coverage, if any. I wasn't expecting a win currently, maybe just an increase in percentage every time until someday they're viable.

When the day comes that a third party candidate has the money and media influence of a Republican or Democrat, that's when we will see a President that isn't from one of those two parties.

Third party candidates never got a lot of coverage unless they can sway an election... think Ross Perot and Nader. The media won't talk about what is essentially a non-issue... but that really hasn't stopped the media before.

Uh, there are plenty of 3rd party candidates. Ralph Nader is back with a vengeance, and is ready to earn his 10 votes!

Bob Barr is the libertarian, though he is more of a disgruntled republican. I am considering voting for him. Cynthia McKinney is running for the green party, and the only person I know who is in the Green party says she is a terrible choice. There is also the socialist, Brian Moore, and liberation socialist Gloria La Riva.

Some of my favorites are Charles Jay of the Boston Tea Party, who under the nomination of another party, once selected a porn star as his running mate. The Marijauna Party has nominated Bruce Cain, who will campaign by getting stoned with those who he meets on the campaign trail. He also uses slogans such as "Speak English or get out!"

Finally, the Nazi party (or, I guess it is officially the Socialist workers party. same thing.) has nominated Roger Calero. The best part about his nomination is that if he were elected, he couldn't be president, becuase he was born in Nacaragua.

When we see a third party actually become elected as president I can then I can say I like our government........but thats never going to happen either donkey or elephant...what freedom
