Ubisoft returns to the Sands of Time universe for a fourth time in this May 2010 release, set in between the first two games in the trilogy and coinciding with the release of the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time movie.
I really am enjoying the game. The platforming is exactly what I want and the combat is acceptable. It is pretty fun fighting a bunch of enemies. I think it was definitely an overlooked game. The game is basically 40 bucks right now. If you like PoP I would say get it. I just wish the model of the prince was different. I don't know how they messed up the face.
Don't worry dude. You're not the only one. It just goes to show that you shouldn't trust review scores. If you feel that it's going to be a good game or you know it is, then buy it.
I payed £40 ($60?) for it and felt slightly ripped off. I mean, I had a pleasant 6-7 hour experience with it, and when the game got inventive it was really cool to see how things played out. But ultimately, there was only one sequence that stayed with me (like right at the end) and the whole thing was forgettable. Nowhere near is satisfying as PoP'08 and at the very most, it's a capable reminder of PoP circa 2004
I liked it a lot more than the 2008 game. Although graphically it was unimpressive (I don't think they got a lot of money to work with) and the combat system seemed less focused than previous instalments, the platforming was undeniably more satisfying and complex. Frankly, I don't feel like I could have played through the entire game with a Guitar Hero controller, which was my main gripe with the previous one.
Also pretty reasonable to get all the achievements in too, if you're into that.
I enjoyed it but I'll probably forget about it a few years from now. It's definitely got some great sequences and some good platforming, but I remember thinking that the combat lasts way too long. It can be fun in short, occasional spurts but most of the time the game just poured stupid enemies at you for quite a long time.
I liked the 2008 game a little better because damn, that game was gorgeous. I also felt like the platforming was better and more free-flowing in it.
