    Not to be Forgotten 0

The Prince of Persia series of the last generation of consoles was one of the most successful and critically acclaimed series to come out during its era and so it was no surprise that Ubisoft would want to somehow continue it on the current generation of consoles. The problem was that there was really no room to continue the story after it was so perfectly tied together with its final chapter.   The solution? An interquel! Thus, we have the Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands . Naturally, th...

    A forgettable romp 0

Yes, you can swing on water After the Prince’s cel-shaded and ridiculously easy adventures in 2008’s Prince of Persia, Ubisoft have seemingly abandoned their new direction for the series, opting to revert back to the original Sands of Time trilogy with Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands. It may coincide with the release of Jerry Bruckheimer and Disney’s big-budget movie adaptation of The Sands of Time, but it has little to do with the movie (sorry, no sexy Jake); instead, filling i...

The authors of this game should be beaten up with a rusty pipe 1

The authors of Prince of Persia:The Forgotten Sands should be beaten up with a rusty pipe. Why? Because the PoP:TFS is an insult to the usually pretty good Prince of Persia series! We (the gaming population) expected this game to be at least alright, but the end result is something horrible...TFS was supposed to return the Prince to his root and make him agile and stuff like that again, but why make dumb stuff up when in the Sands of Time continuum (which is the continuum this game takes place...

Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands 0

Although the platforming in Enslaved: Odyssey to the West was mostly decorative, it got me in the mood to play a PS2-style Prince of Persia game again, and luckily The Forgotten Sands was just sitting there ready for me to play it. And while the game definitely felt like Ubisoft cared more about getting it out quickly than polishing it to a shine besides the nice jump to HD visuals for the Sands of Time sub-series, it was still a very entertaining game, at least when you were running on wal...

Play it NOW! - Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands 0

Run, jump, and climb your way through Ubisoft’s latest iteration in the Prince of Persia franchise: The Forgotten Sands. Anyone familiar with the franchise and its recent reboot will immediately notice this is not the Nolan North prince. Instead, we return to the Sands of Time era, as Ubisoft attempts to bridge the gap between the first game and its sequel, The Warrior Within. Why the departure? In my opinion, this was done to act as a companion to the recent live action summer movie, which...

    More Than a Movie Tie-In 0

I think that this title warrants reviewing, as many in my friend group are torn about whether or not it merits a playthrough.   These opinions range from “I’ll give it a shot if I have time” to “I’ll be disappointed in you if you play it.” First off, the atmosphere is the same atmosphere that you know and love from the first three Prince of Persia games.   It may be too familiar to some, but I enjoy it, because I do not play any other games set in Ancient Persia.   Certain rooms and scenes are s...

ubisoft greatness yet camera problem 0

i used to hate this prince when the era of snes , i just dont understand why people love this game , but i guess ubisoft answer with this newest platforming game, it is addictive , its challenging , you wouldn't stop to gives the right maneuver ,twisting your finger to be more responsive, but somehow i find some discomfort from camera viewing , u can easily disoriented by the perspective , this game still awesome , for this puzzle a to b thing , i do like this control better  than the ezio AC , ...

Not a great challenge, but great fun 0

I read once on the internet that games published by Ubisoft tend to drop in price quicker than many other games. I never really paid attention, and then the newest Prince of Persia game (subtitled The Forgotten Sands) came out in May prior to the movie release from the franchise, and has since seen its price free-fall. Console games this generation release at 59.99 usually, and maybe within 6 months depending on a game's sales, the price will slowly move down. The Forgotten Sands was ...

    PoP: Forgotten Sands 0

I just recently finished the game so I had plenty of time to see reviews of the game before I actually got my hands on it. Most of the reviews I read weren't too high on the game so my expectations weren't exactly through the roof. But, after finishing the game I have to say, I enjoyed my time with it. The Forgotten Sands is essentially a direct sequel to last gen's PoP: Sands of Time, and shares that title's core gameplay features. The Prince gains the ability to rewind time early on and the me...

    Best I've played 0

This Prince of Persia game was so much better than I had expected. My first experience with a Prince of Persia game was the 2008 game. I saw the Prince of Persia movie and this reminded me of it based on the look and feel of the game play. The story was very good and kept me wanting to play all day. I was really excited to play it again after I beat it. The game wasn't very long but was very fun. The only thing that I didn't like was destroying sarcophagi for one of the achievements. Overall thi...

The final hour gives you a glimpse of what could have been. 0

Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands Review Playing this Prince of Persia was one of the most relaxing gaming experiences I’ve ever had. Which is a great thing but at the same time disappointing, this game has moments where it comes close to capturing the great formula of the previous games in the series. However, every time it brushes up against this mark, it seems to run away from it and return to playing a very safe, run of the mill experience. This is a very different game than the Prince ...

The Forgotten Sands is about as average as they come 0

Over the years, Prince of Persia has seen a lot of changes.  From a witty, rebellious look to a darker, almost sinister tone to a cel-shaded tomb robber, the prince and his story have seen many redesigns.  The Forgotten Sands attempts to bring us back to the original Prince we know from The Sands of Time and bridge the gap between that and Warriors Within.  As a game that feels like it was almost forced to coincide with the movie release, it’s surprising how well the classic Prince of Persia set...

    Hum Drum Re-tread. Monotonous 0

Before going any further with this review, lets first ask ourselves whether we enjoyed the Prince of Persia games from the PS2 era. If you did then you will like this. If you did not (like me) then you will not enjoy this game.   This game is essentially a reprisal of those games in terms of format and style. Your adventure takes you through what appears to be the largest castle in  history, filled with insane mechanical contraptions that make absolutely no sense beyond the game world. Why would...

Quality Platforming Can't Save This Otherwise Lackluster Game 0

Playing Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands is like playing two tangential games; one an exciting, intricate platformer and the other the most boring, basic brawler you can imagine—all linked together with a middling story. PoP:TFS does itself no favors by leading with its weakest aspect. Everyone lumbers around and overly projects their actions to the point that combat is simply a chore and not at all compelling. You fight off hoards at a time and they make almost no effort to attack you; the...

    Rewinding to Forgotten Sands 0

Evidently Ubisoft decided that 2008′s Prince of Persia didn’t merit an immediate sequel, since they’ve decided to return to the first Prince and the first Prince of Persia games.  I can only imagine how difficult it’s going to be keeping one series distinct from the other; maybe that’s why the new Prince had such gaudy clothing.  Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands is a midquel taking place between The Sands of Time and Warrior Within.  Let’s see how it holds up. Developer: Ubisoft (Montr...

    Forgotten Game 0

After playing "Forgotten Sands" for a number of hours, I was left without any real enthousiasm for this game.  The acrobatics are decent but the game's story is simply forgettable and dull. It seems everyone at Ubisoft has forgotten what made the "Sands of Time" a good single player game.  Things like a  good story that motivates you and makes sense, humor, likable charters, etc. All these are missing from Forgotten Sands. What remains is a average game with almost no storytelling and stolen mec...
