Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is an action-adventure game with a heavy focus on platforming. The story revolves around the wry Prince, a time-altering dagger, and a kingdom beset by a plague-like evil.
I still really liked it just for its characters, story and the overall majestic atmosphere. Plus at the time when I first played this it was pretty unique and I hadn't played anything like this before. Playing it now I'm sure I'd agree with most of your negatives, but it's why I'd rather not play it again and just remember the good ole days :P
I have only played Warrior Within...speaking of which i reinstalled it, and at the moment i run over that gate after the tutorial, once you reach the island of time the bitch just freezes on me... -.- any suggestions?
Yeah, that game came out when I was in high school. The gameplay, especially with all of the great current-gen parkour and free-running games out there now, has not held up well. But, for the time, the game was pretty much amazing.
The movie was a complete piece of shit that had very little to do with the game, was not even shallowly entertaining, and I have no idea why they decided to make it, especially so long after the game came out. The game, on the other hand, is amazing. Sands of Time is one of my favorite games ever. Platformers are my favorite genre and SoT is still one of the best. The set pieces are amazing; the platforming sequences are well thought out and fun; yuri lowenthal is great as the prince, somehow making him both a complete asshole and likable at the same time, and all the dialogue was very thought provoking. The prince's speech at the beginning and end is epic as hell.
