this got a 4 while banjo kazooie nuts and bolts got a 5

#1 Posted by mugugipan (376 posts) -

thumbs down
this is a definite 5.
On a 360 console where gamers are drowning in fps games, a quality action adventure platformer is a breath of fresh air.

I think the problem is that it's a little too easy, turns into more of a sightseeing tour than a game. I personally liked it a lot but I'm not sure it's a 5/5 game.

Obvious flame bait. Try to add some meaningful conversation next time in a topic please.

At least you did more stuff in Banjo than run on walls and climb vines.

Plus, Kazooie is a lot more comical to have on your back than Elika.

nice comparison of two games that are very alike. ;)

#7 Posted by TooWalrus (13128 posts) -

This game should have been a 2. I collected 300 shiny orbs and sent it back to GameFly. This game was pretty awful.

Thank God these games are 100% comparable, with their rediculously similar control schemes, game mechancics, and underlying philosophy..

I give this thread(flamebait) three and a half thumbs up

I can explain why.

Opinions.

Sorry this game deserved a 0 star rating for the ending IMO

"how is this game an 8.5??? so the reviewer thinks its garbage to give it such a low score??? it's a 9.7 at least!!!111!! biased much???"

#13 Posted by SJSchmidt93 (4882 posts) -

Ok?

#14 Posted by ShadowKing7 (753 posts) -

"ZOMG GAME "A" GOT AN 8.8 AND DESERVED A 10. GAME "B" GOT A 9.4 AND DESERVED A 7.  THIS IS BULLSHIT!!!!!"

It's all just opinions, bro.  Can't change 'em, just gotta live with 'em.  Obviously you found lots of enjoyment from Prince of Persia and so did a lot of people, but other people probably enjoy Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts more.  It's all just opinion and preference.

Eh, since late 2008, reviews have been handled a little more scrupulously. I mean GTA4 got a perfect score from most mainstream publications after all, due to hype and expecation. The games journo industry facepalmed and is now being more careful.

At least that's my explanation.

In this poster's opinion:

Prince of Persia: 1/5
Nuts & Bolts: 1/5

So, whatever.

Prince of Persia sucked. Period?

It was a great game, I really enjoyed it. But I think 4 is a fair score due to it's short length, linear progression, and low difficulty.

#19 Posted by Cheapoz (1064 posts) -

N&B = 6/5

#20 Posted by mordukai (7125 posts) -

While the graphics of the "New" Prince of Persia were really good, the platforming sucked , it has a broken combat system and the plot is really stupid with an even more retarded ending.

I did not play Nuts and Bolts so I can't really have any opinion about it.

Last I checked reviews are opinion based articles, the review is expressing an opinion and so are you.

@Babble: but he's stating it as fact. i'm so confused

@Cheapoz: Come on, really? Have you played the previous Banjo games? Those were far superior, I mean YOU COULD TRANSFORM INTO A SUBMARINE!!!

Honestly both games are great. Its just Banjo and Kazooie I think has a lot more depth to it then PoP. I love the Prince of persia game but its just too easy, as someone said it becomes a sightseeing game which is kind of true. I only play this game when I'm in the mood to just sit back and play something. Not really concentrate and all. Banjo and Kazooie is unique, new and different which sets it apart from everything else, not to mention it plays really well. I think the ratings are fine and agree to it. MY question is have you actually played Nuts and Bolts?

Also I know Prince of Persia is not a great game at all, which is probably why I haven't finished it but its just relaxing I guess in the sense that its so easy to play that you can just sit back. I know the main reason why I like the game is its just fun to hop around the world with this great art style. On a technical point of the game its pretty bad, storyline is pretty pathetic and the fighting is very simplistic in a bad way. But I find you can still find some enjoyment out of it.

The thing is that Nuts 'n Bolts is a phenomenal game. I haven't played Prince of Persia, so I can't say anything against it, but you're knocking the wrong game in comparison imo.

I loved it. Many felt it was too easy because the gameplay was so simplified. To be honest, I found that to be the hardest part of the game since I've often try doing more than necessary instead of letting the game pretty much take the reigns for me. Once I adjusted to the toned down and less demanding style of play, I thought everything worked out just fine. I think Prince of Persia is a truly excellent game, however, hunting down orbs would likely get very repetitive to many people, but as kind of an in-game collectionist, I didn't mind too much and enjoyed trying to figure out how to capture the more difficult ones. I have no objection to giving it a 5/5 but I think a 4/5 is fair enough. Oh, and dude. Don't be hatin' on Banjo. Tell 'em, Cheapoz! 6/5, ya herrrdddd?? WAT? SAY SUMTHAN!!1

#32 Posted by Keyser_Soze (1186 posts) -
@tactis: In which case Master Chief Halo 2 should have gotten a -2.

And yes PoP was awesome. Most gamers can't understand "experiences" in games, if you aren't killing shit or leveling up it ain't a videogame to most people.

Nah. I loved Prince of Persia, but if it is a 5, Sands of Time is a 7.

Also, Brad docked a point for Ubisoft having the balls to call Prince of Persia.
