    A great new start

In 2002, Ubisoft rebooted the Prince of Persia series with Prince of Persia: Sands of Time. It was criticly hailed as one of the best games of the last gen consules thanks to it’s great control, incredible graphics, unique platforming, and the ability to rewind time. There were 2 more games while not as good, but still great. For the next-gen consules, Ubisoft reboots the series yet again with Prince of Persia. The Story of the Prince of Persia tells that the Prince is now a thief. When he goes and looks for his donkey he gets caught up with Elica, a women with powers, and her father who unleashes Dark powers taking the land. Now the Prince must help Elica restore the land. The games opening narrative isn’t strong, but gets better after words. The overall story is just good enough to keep you interested. Prince of Pesia fallows a some what linear dezien mixed with an open world dezien as well. There are 4 worlds in all and you must get to the end and fix the world. You can go through which one you chose to go through, but each world feels similar to the next. Not a bad thing, but still should be noted. Gameplay is fun. The 4 face buttons work differently. A is to Jump, B is to grab and continue a run, X is to attack, and Y is to use Elica. The platforming is just as great as it always has been. The solid arcrobating platforming gameplay that the series is know for is still there and is still fun as hell. Combat is some of the best in the Prince’s history. The Tag team combat works great. The different attack combinations the Prince and Elica do is great. You can get through with just X, but that takes out all the fun. You can’t upgrade you weapons, but you can upgrade Elica by collect light orbs. The gameplay for the most part is flawless, the only problem is that the game is just too easy. You can’t die from anything. Do a missed time jump, Elica will save you, When your gonna die in combat, do a quick time event to save you. I’m all for making things excessible for both the Hard Core and casuel, but can’t they make it a bit challenging. Also, when you clens a land, you have to re-do the level in order to get these orbs. The gameplay is solid and flawless, your just gonna have to except the ease of play and enjoy it for what it is. Of all the game’s games of 2008, This is one of the best lookers. Prince of Persia looks like a water-color painting come to life. When Elica brings life back into the lands that have been tainted, it’s one of the most breath taking and most beautiful moments in all of gaming. The audio fits the areabian feel, but the voice acting doesn’t. While it’s solid, doesn’t sound areabian. It’s a small grip, and doesn’t hurt it’s presentation. If you can except the ease of play, you’ll be playing one of the Prince’s greatest adventures yet.

This game has many intangibles that make it special. 0

Prince of Persia : …you know how it’s become trendy in Hollywood to “reboot” franchises, throw away all the backstory from the previous (and usually bad) sequels and start fresh? Batman did it, James Bond did it, Star Trek is going to do it, The Incredible Hulk did it after only one bad movie, and now we have a video game in Prince of Persia, which ignores the Sands of Time trilogy or all of the quick death traps of the original game and starts anew. Oh, it’s an action platformer by the way.Stor...

Flaws are to be overlooked in order to enjoy Prince of Persia 0

With Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Jordan Mechner's highly successful and revolutionary game series was reborn, and people liked it. Even if the stylistic changes in the sequel were not appreciated by everyone, the Sands of Time trilogy was still a resounding success. With this new Prince of Persia, the series receives its second reboot in a very short period of time, which is signified by its lack of a subtitle. The game has one big thing in common with its predecessors: the focus on ext...
