Since the game includes so much fan service (err - the non titillating type), it includes a lot of the best themes from the Ace Attorney games along with the expected ones from Professor Layton.

The kicker is, though, that they're fully orchestrated and re-remixed just for this game. I actually like a lot of the AA themes in this game more than their Ace Attorney 5 counterparts.

For anyone who liked either series in the past, I encourage you to check it out.

Man, I still haven't played through Layton 3 and up as well as AA 2 and up.

You're right about the music though. The main Layton theme is so great.

I'm looking forward to eventually playing through these games, but what I would be even more excited for is the Ghost Trick (GotY 2011) of the 3DS. I don't mean a sequel, just a new non-Ace Attorney IP by Shu Takumi.

@aegon: Just want to point out that you can play PL vs AA entirely standalone - it doesn't really tie into either series' continuity.

But you're 100% right about Ghost Trick (GOTY 2011 :P ) - I'd love to see more new IP by these talented studios.

Okay - for Ace Attorney, I'd just say go with the first one. You can get it on iOS for a couple of bucks (dont get the "HD" versions unless you plan to wait for the re-release of that for 3DS). If you like that and want to be fully caught up with the ongoing plot, follow that up with Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney then Ace Attorney 5 Dual Destinies. Or you can play all of them, they're all pretty good.

The Professor Layton games I understand to be a bit more standalone, and for those you can pretty much pick up any you feel like. I usually point people towards Curious Village (the first one) just since it's a good game and you may as well start at the beginning.

@selfconfessedcynic: Ahh, sweet. As I don't have an iOS device, I'll wait for that on the 3DS, good to know they are doing a re-release of that. Thanks for your help!

Cool - yeah, the they plan to fix the reworked visuals for the 3DS release. They look pretty bad on the iOS version, so if you do wait you'll get hopefully the best version of those games.
