Hey Peeps

I'm from England - based in the West Midlands in Coventry and run a social networking site for gamers - many say its a twitter like website for gamers :D

The best thing about this website is that we open up our news channels to everyone similar to N4G. We do NOT have an official group of game journalists and hence just about anyone can contribute to the news feeds immediately, without restrictions or approval of posts and this is what creates the site’s biggest appeal. Gamers can share. connect and discover the latest gaming news updates in seconds just like the much loved twitter.

As the community continues to grow, more and more gamers are publishing the hottest news, rumours, and reviews in seconds to the gaming world.

We have just started out and currently in beta so feel free to check us out if you like and let us know what you think of the site - good or bad- but please be nice :D

I've just come across a really good infographic which shows some really cool video game statistics - in all honesty its not surprising apart from the fact that there are more over 50's who play computer games compared to under 18's..... I've listed some of the points below, check it out and let me know what you think.

-65% of American households play video games and this number is growing.

-Of that 65% of the US population, 18-49 year olds make up the largest percentage of gamers at 49%

-25% of children under 18 play games

-More people over 50 play computer games then children (26%).

-The average age of a gamer is actually 32 years old.

FEMALES

-Females just love Nintendo’s Wii with 80% saying that it is their primary console, or console of choice.

-11%of females play Microsoft’s Xbox360

-9% of females play Sony’s Playstation3.

MALE

-Males are more divided in terms of console preference.

-41% still play the Wii primarily

-38% prefer Xbox

-21% like the Playstation3.

It seems as the 3DS has begun selling like crazy, reminds me of the DS and its crazy sales And yet people claim the 3DS 'flopped'..... i think worth mentioning that these are Japanese charts and the sales spike is understandable, considering Monster Hunter and Mario Kart has just been released. I believe there is a good chance that these spikes will continue on as there are a bunch of new games coming out next year. These spikes may not be as large as what Monster Hunter and Mario Kart are doing, but there is a good chance it'll be something.... Anyways what ever the results i love the 3ds and think its a fantastic piece of hardware.

Hollywood has a really really (this is not a typo, i wanted to emphasize the world REALLY) bad habit of taking some of my favorite games and running them into the ground like they dont care! - Street Fighter, Tekken, DOA , Resident Evil etc.. - to name a few :(

From time to time you get some talented fans out there who can give the big ass studios a run for their money. In all honesty sometimes I can't tell the difference between fan film trailers and some of the Hollywood trailers....

The newest fan trailer thats been going around the web like wild fire is the Left 4 Dead Fan Film - Apparently this is just a snippet and the full film will be out "soon".... Its actually quite good, but don't really like some of the cameos that make an appearance - don't want to say too much as it may spoil the movie.

What do you think? I think he makes some good points....

No one brings up Google when speculating about another technology company following Microsoft into the console gaming world. Remember Google is not just a search engine its on a quest to take over the technology world. it owns the Android marketplace which has taken the mobile market by storm and a large portion of sales in the marketplace is for the sale of mobile games. Google has also released its new technology, dubbed “Native Client” to deliver high-end games on your browser.....It seems google is taking steps to move into the gaming market - exciting :D
