About Me
This is a badass logo.
Hi my name is William and I am 18 year old student attending UC San Diego. I am currently majoring in History with a minor in Political Science with the ambitions of becoming a politician in the near future.
I am also a video game journalist, with two years of experience under my belt, who founded
The Video Game Spectrum in January 2007, which is now becoming
MonsterVine, a new take on video game journalism by finding its source in its gamers. We are planning a soft launch for the site in November to populate the site with a full promotional activity running by December. We are supported by
CB Media and the brain behind
Kingdom Hearts Ultimania, Pete Campbell.
Basically I'm a writer who loves video games, so naturally the two things came together and now I'm in the medium of video game journalism. Everyone gets their start from somewhere and I'm building my reputation day by day through MonsterVine, a site that elevates undiscovered and talented writers to journalists.
If you want to be part of this video game movement, check out
my news post, and take the initative!
My gaming roots trace back to the beginnings of the 3D era, where my first console was the
PlayStation. This sparked my interest in the realm of video games and recall experiences such as traversing through the linear but lush environments of
Crash Bandicoot , or engaging in firefights with rampaging baddies in
Spyro 2: Riptos Rage. I later bought a
Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, Playstation 2, and an Xbox with a quickly expanding library of titles with a justly diminishing wallet.
This caused me to invest in a long term system and I found eventually my place amongst the PC gamers as I became enthuased with building my own system and selecting all the parts and accessories I wanted, within budget of course. The thrill that I could customize and optimize the game the way I wanted to play gave me more freedom and imagination than my previous foray in the console realm where restrictions were inevitable. However the only downfall and regret is that it is a timesink and that my rig in 2005 can't hold up to the games in the now current standard of the dual-core, 64-bit, hi-def gaming era.
So now I'm going back to console gaming with my immenent purchase of an
Xbox 360 60GB Pro Holiday Bundle and a 26' HDTV, so we'll see how far that takes me in my endeavors in the world of video games.

Mercenaries 2: World in Flames
Almost guarantee that its going to appear on some conservative political show with a serious business agenda as an attack on video games. Frankly, I'd love to see Rush Limbaugh flip a lid over Sarah Palin stealing a helicoper and bombing a Venezuelan oil facility.
