So I'll be out of the hospital finally in 3 days. I'll be able to go home and get back to a semi normal life which means loads of gaming. While away too many games came out. I now have Dead Space, Fable 2, and Fallout 3 on my plate so I'll be set for a while not to mention keeping up with Halo 3 on XBL. I can't wait to get home!

About a week and a half ago I was in a serious car accident (that wasn't my fault) and both of my legs were broken...yea I'm just that lucky. So here I am in the hospital with almost nothing to do but watch TV and browse the internet on my laptop. Trust me you might think it's cool to get away from work and college and do that, but after a week and a half in bed you're ready to go insane.

Gaming is a huge passion of mine, but here I'm almost completely cut off from it. I can't hook up my Xbox and the internet connection here in this hospital has games blocked. I have my DS, but all I have for it is Advance Wars. I needz some entertainment!

So as I have been browsing the interwebz today I've noticed quite the rumor floating around various creditable sites as well as minor blogs that Bungie is working on a tactical Halo shooter that will not feature the Master Chief.

Game Spot's source reports:

According to the source, the new Halo game will be a spin-off that resembles "a cross between Ghost Recon and Gears of War." It will reportedly tell a "less cartoony" and "more bloody, violent, and grim" tale of a battle between UNSC forces and the pan-racial religious empire known as the Covenant. The game's atmosphere was described as similar to that of the live-action Halo shorts directed by South African filmmaker Neil Blomkamp (pictured), who was to helm the now-stalled big-screen adaptation of the game.

The source says that the upcoming Halo game is a tactical shooter that will follow a squad of colonial marines or orbital-drop shock troopers engaged in "intense" fighting on the ground. Gameplay details were scant, other than the fact that it will reportedly let gamers play as an entire squad in co-op mode through the entire campaign. The exact number of co-op players has yet to be finalized, but it could be as high as eight. It is unclear if the new game is the same as the "Halo: Forerunner" project first rumored in 2006.

Just like all rumors Bungie and Microsoft fail to even recognize them. This seems to be the announcement that Bungie ws prevented from making at E3 this year.

Speaking of E3 Destructoid reported that Bungie had an awesome trailer ready for their next game that would have knocked our socks off.

Jacob Metcalf, the guy who broke the Bungie and Microsoft split before it was announced to the media, had this to say about the trailer to GameRush:

Bungie had a sixty second knock’em down teaser trailer made that was going to unveil the game and it was going to be the close to Microsoft media keynote at E3. This was going to be followed up by Bungie doing their separate press event later on in the week on Wednesday to show off the new game.

Not gonna lie as a huge Halo fan I'm really excited about this.

I've been waiting for this day for a long time. I was an early follower of Giant Bomb and I've been here from the early days where there weren't tabs on the blog for some of the major systems. Hell I don't even think PSP ever made it up there :p I'm currently working at a summer camp which requires me to be away from home for 8 weeks with minimal time on the computer so I'm not even exactly sure which day the site actually launched. I plan on being a very active community member and maybe some day I'll look back and will be able to say I was there when this started. Long live Giant Bomb!
