This probably isn't the biggest  "jesus christ" moment I've ever had, but it ranks up there. I was while playing Battlefield 2: Modern Combat multiplayer. I was playing as a sniper, running up a hill with 3 or 4 other people. Right towards the top of the hill, someone in a C4-covered jeep flew over the top. I blind fired my sniper rifle and ended up nailing the driver in the face ...

    Looks exactly like L4D, to me. All the animations are exactly the same, the zombies are all the same models, and have the same sound effects, music cues are the same, HUD is the same.

    The only thing thats different is the obvious new characters, weapons and scenarios.
    Once again, nothing that couldn't have been accomplished via DLC. And it's not that we just randomly expected them to support it in the same way, they flat out SAID they would.

    @Scooper: The point is, that given the amount of time between the releases, there's simply nothing that they could have added or changed to the game that couldn't have been accomplished via DLC. Plain and simple.

    Apparently posting a blog containing a youtube video, and attaching it to the off-topic foum is considered spam. Which is funny, because I always thought that was kind of the point of having an off-topic board. Especially when you look at half the shit on the off-topic forum and a single youtube video definitely pales in comparision. 

    So, since the main reason I posted the blog was for the people following me to see it, I am reposting the video.

    Incase you missed it last time (and you probably did), this is the reason I hate the internet.

    Fun new toys

    Just got my new(ly refurbished) Asus EEE PC in the mail from woot today. Got it for a chill $150.





    As you can see, it is VERY TINY (if you didn't already know). Also, next to it is my brand new tmobile G1. I wanted an iphone, but AT&T said my credit sucks too hard for them to give me a contract. So I settled with the G1, and renewed my tmobile contract. so far, I'm really happy with the phone.

    Anyway, about to rip off the shit version of linux on this EEE, and put on something better. Also, typing on these little things is rather difficult at first. (I typed out this post on it, and it took way longer than I expected. But I am getting the hang of it.)

    Shoplifting madness

    So, I had a fun day at work.

    I work at Office Depot, and we have a TV display at the front. Normally, we keep all of our TV's spider wrapped (Those ratchet security wraps, that retailers put on expensive products) together, in a line down one of the main aisles.  Well we currently only had one 1 in-box TV. It was a 37" LCD, that we had on display, so we put the last boxed one on the shelf underneath the display. 

    Well today, while helping someone with monitors, someone grabbed that TV, and ran out the front door with it. He had someone waiting in a car for him right out front. Someone yelled over our personal radios that someone stole a TV, so I instantly ran up to the front door, along with every other employee in the store. Due to liability issues, we're not allowed to stop shoplifters once they leave the store, so we all just kinda had to stand there at the door.

    The best part is, the guy couldn't even get the TV into the car. 

    So imagine 5 or 6 employees running up to the front door because someone just grabbed a TV and ran out the front door with it... And them all just standing there as he struggled, and ultimately failed to get this TV in the backseat of his car. They drove off with it half hanging out of their car, and there was nothing any of us could do.

    The type of person I am, I really really wanted to just run up and shove the guy over, and pull the TV out of the car. And I almost kept running when I got to the front door to do just that. But in retrospect I'm glad I didn't. I could have gotten severely hurt. Who knows if they had a gun or something... And even if they didn't I would have been fired from my job.

    But yeah, it was a fun afternoon.
