Brad just posted some news Watch This Riddick: Dark Athena Trailer Now
We've already updated yesterday's Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena preview, but I wanted to make sure you didn't miss this trailer for the game Atari has since released. It looks to be about 90 percent composed of footage from the Dark Athena half, with a little of the improved Butcher Bay thrown in there for good measure. Shows off a ton of the action. Looks good, eh? Looks rude.

OK, I'll vow now to stop gushing about this game until they release more material to discuss. Watch!

Brad just posted some news New FF: Crystal Chronicles Lets DS, Wii Play Nice Together
Lonely, lonely screenshot. Following up on the previous Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles game, Ring of Fates, Square Enix sent out a release today for the newest entry in the series, Echoes of Time.

Good thing they didn't try to continue the Ring of Fates series with this game. Can you envision the four-layer nested branding on this one? Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates: Echoes of Time. Blech. That's at least three colons too many for any respectable game title. There's a single screenshot to accompany the release, over there to your right.

    The big story here ...

Brad just posted some news Harry Potter Next Up On Lego's Agenda?
This is not at all the Lego Harry Potter you think it is. Lego Star Wars. Lego Indiana Jones. Lego Batman. Now try this one: Lego Harry Potter. Rolls right off the tongue, no?

CVG seems to think so. They're reporting J. K. Rowling's boy wizard extraordinaire will be the next franchise to get the cutesy building-block treatment with a Lego-focused action game, though no specific sources or substantiation are listed.

You may be aware the Half-Blood Prince movie was pushed back to next summer, and Lego games have a habit of finding their way to store shelves ...

Brad just posted some news Xbox.com Upgraded, Now Kinder, Gentler
Those of you in the NXE preview program--and as of yesterday, that's a lot of you--have probably noticed that up till now, Xbox.com hasn't supported some of the new features being introduced in the dashboard update. Mainly, the gamer pictures for NXE users have been displaying as big fat question marks when those users apply an avatar snapshot as their pic, and no other sign of custom avatars has been spotted around Xbox.com profile pages.

After a little bit of downtime and a little maintenance, the site is back up and running and now supports all those snazzy custom ...

Brad just posted some news We're The +1 On This Week's Idle Thumbs Podcast
Breckon slums it with manual pizza consumption. I (and by "I" I mean "Brad") took a trip into downtown San Francisco earlier this week to eat pizza and drink cola in the apartment of one Gamasutra editor Chris Remo. Then we did a podcast! The Idle Thumbs podcast, specifically, which is the new audio-only form that Remo's defunct game news/culture/thought-experiment site has morphed into. Also on-hand were Shacknews editor Nick Breckon and Telltale Games' jack-of-all-trades Jake Rodkin. (He gets a wiki page because he actually makes games.)

Their guest last week was Steve Gaynor, level designer on a forthcoming ...

Brad just posted some news Watch This Kingdom Under Fire II Trailer
I don't think Circle of Doom won many people over to the Kingdom Under Fire franchise earlier this year. But before KUF was a middling third-person hack-and-slash action-RPG, it was an excellent couple of Xbox-based strategy-brawlers that combined the wholesale battlefield slaughter of Dynasty Warriors with real-time strategy controls that let you directly command entire batallions of infantry, archers, and cavalry as the battle rages around you. Also, there's a lot of righteous headbanging death metal in there. It's good for the soul.

Kingdom Under Fire is high fantasy for manly men, the kind who relish Iron Maiden album ...

Brad just posted some news Sonic Unleashed Held Back, Only in Japan?
HD loop-the-loops coming to you...sometime? On Siliconera (via Kotaku) there's word that Sonic Unleashed has been pushed back from its December 18 release to spring 2009 in order to "further improve the quality of the game." Great, right? The last few Sonic games haven't exactly been barnburners, you know? Could stand some improvement.

The catch is, that delay is only applicable to Japan so far. Sega declined to give me a comment on the fate of the U.S. version, which leaves one of two outcomes.

A North American delay has yet to be announced. The comparatively busted U.S. ...

About Me
Been writing about games for a long time and playing them for way longer. Lucky enough to get roped into Giant Bomb before it blew up! Okay, no more explosion-related metaphors.

Check out my personal blog, if I ever get around to updating it again.

This post relates to: Which of Capcom's classic games would you like to see remade next?

Art style of the arcade game with more gameplay depth a la the NES version. Do it up like Bionic Commando Rearmed. SOLD.

We've now selected a handful of you to make up our initial wave of wiki moderators on Giant Bomb. For now, we're going to focus on organizing the mod team and getting it running at peak efficiency before we add more people into the mix. Those of you who have sent us PMs about becoming mods and haven't heard back, we apologize -- there just aren't enough minutes in the day to reply to everyone at the moment.

If you have moderator aspirations on Giant Bomb, sit tight for now and keep on submitting wiki and image contributions. Future mods will be chosen based on the quality of the information they've submitted as users.

Brad, a lot of the guys in the community have come together about a seriously grave topic: the brown note that is your F-bomb. Research it and help save our trousers, sir...before it's too late. Don't let the terrorists win, Brad. Don't let them win...
