  • Well I've watched the first five Star Trek movies. My general opinion? Most of them sort of suck. Let's analyze them in order, with the focus on the ANAL part:Star Trek I : the motion pictureOh man, wow, this movie...this movie takes forever. Like one of the first scene in the movie is a montage of James T. Kirk and Scotty doing a flyby of the enterprise, and it lasts ...

  • Wow does this game sucks: So yeah, honestly, what? I was hoping this game would be good but sadly it wasn't. A lot of the same complaints I made in my DQVIII review can also be applied here, but worse because this is a worse game than DQVIII. Now I played this game a while ago, so I don't remember every nook and cranny of it, but basically: WHERE'S THE STORY? I'm serious, WHERE IS ...

  • A true classic: THIS IS A REVIEW OF THE FANMADE REMAKE MANIAC MANSION DELUXE FOR THE PC, and not the officially released PC versions.God damn is this game good. Or maybe I should say, holy hot darn is this game STILL good! I'm amazed at how well this game plays over all these years. So what is there to say? It's adventure gaming at its finest. Which is strange because the game is pretty ...

  • An incredible leap over Ultima IV: Ultima V is a thoroughly impressive game. It takes everything Ultima IV brought to the table and polishes it many times over. Unlike Ultima IV there is actually a story in this one, one of total chaos to boot. Lord British is gone, Blackthorn is reigning supreme and the shadowlords are running amok. Throughout the game there is that heavy feeling of oppressiveness which is really well done for a ...

  • A major breakthrough back in 1985, but how does it fare today?: Ultima IV is often seen as being one of the most important rpg in the history of the genre, and is often included in top games of all time lists and whatnot. It's true that the game was truly incredible back in the day and it has surprisingly aged well, or at least some parts of it aged well. Unlike the previous games in the series you don't have a ...

  • A game that spawned a genre.: Ultima III is often seen as one of the most important games ever. It brought RPG mechanics to a whole new level with party based strategic combat. It's basically the distant ancestor of strategy rpgs. The game is a big leap over its predecessors Ultima I and II who were simpler action rpgs. In Ultima III you create a party of four characters to play as. In structure the game ...

  • The second and possibly the worst game in the Ultima series.: The second game in the Ultima series is easily the worst. Ultima I was slightly incomprehensible because of its weird mesh of subjects but Ultima II just totally goes into overdrive. Minax, the apprentice and lover of Mondain whom you killed at the end of Ultima I, is pissed off. She decides to destroy your homeworld...earth. So using the 'timegates' that spawned after the death of Mondain she comes to ...

  • The first official game in the Ultima series.: Ultima I is the first official game in the Ultima series. It is a rather straightforward action rpg, sort of like Diablo but 10 or 15 years earlier. Gamespot states that the PC version of Ultima was released in 1980 but that is a mistake; Ultima was first released in 1980 for the Apple II and the Atari 8-Bit and was then remade in 1986 for the PC, Commodore 64, ...

  • You say at the end of your review that this game will only cater to loyal fans of the series. However, wouldn't it be those same fans who would be the most disappointed by this game? I'd think it would cater more to the Final Fantasy neophyte than the veteran. Only my two cents.
