About Me
'Sup all? I'm Rory, but you'll most likely know me as Hyper_Hedgehog (Or Hyper or H.H).

My favourite video game is Sonic 2. I love Sonic (as you may have guessed by my username -_-), Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy.

My favourite band are the Beatles, but my favourite song is 'Everlong' by Foo Fighters, who just so happen to be my second favourite band. I also play the bass guitar. Don't ask me why. Oh, and my idol is John Lennon.

I think that covers everything you need to know (and several things that you don't), so I'll see ya on the boards!

Ok, after a couple of days of doing nothing (and, after that, a couple of days contributing sparsely), I've started to get the hang of all this GB stuff. I'm posting in the forum, I've contributed some information, and all in all I'm really enjoying this site.

One minor complaint however, is that I posted a few images about a day ago, and they are still pending for submission. I know it's because everyone's contributing, but I'm more important than them!

CHOOSE ME!!!

Anyway, the site's fun. >_>

Hyper out.

OK... I have no idea what to do on here. I'm not even sure how all of this works.

I do know, however, that there's no fear of mods, so I can swear. Check it out:

Fuck.

That's just badass. It really is. It's fucking badass.

Hi all.

After much deliberation, I have decided to join this site. I'm sure I know a few of you, but for those who I don't, here are some things to know about me.

I'm Hyper_Hedgehog and I'm from England.

OK... so... see you on the boards!

Hang ten!

Unfriendly and clumsy, but incredibly addictive.

Harvest Moon: Magical Melody is not a new game. Sure, it never came out in PAL regions, and it is in Wii packaging, but don't be fooled. This is a port of a Gamecube game released in the States and Japan. A lazy one at that.

The game's story is typical Harvest Moon; you get a farm. Now live your life. There is also an interesting sub-plot involving a Harvest Goddess and notes you are rewarded for completing tasks.

Normally, you are taught what to do, introduced to the villagers, given some seeds, a dog, and maybe a cow to start off... but in this game you are quite literally dumped right in the thick of it; no tutorials, no preparation, just left in front of your house with a dog you didn't even ask for. No barn, seeds or anything; just you. No amount of 'very's can describe how unfriendly this game is.

After either figuring out what to do (in which case you are either a genius or a die-hard Harvest Moon fan) or jumping on to the computer for help (which is far more likely), the game's vortex starts to suck you in.

You have a number of choices: you can buy some seeds, grab your hoe and watering can, and build a vegetable empire, mine for treasure with your hammer in the local cave, fish for your dinner or start making friends and searching for a wife. You can't buy any animals at the beginning for two reasons: you have very little money and/or need to buy a barn.

The socialising aspect is very important; making friends yields items, a wider choice of property, or more people coming to your village. In this game, nice guys win everything.

The other aspects can be slightly infuriating, thanks to the over complicated menu and shoddy motion controls, which don't work when you need them and do when you don't, deplenishing the stamina bar, another poor addition, causing you to faint.

All in all, though, Magical Melody is a game that, despite its major flaws, will keep you coming back for more time and time again.

The best Sonic game ever. Period.

Alright, where to begin... how about the beginning? Yeah, that works.

When I was younger, I played Sonic 2 at my cousin's house. It was the first game I had ever played, and I was in awe of it. The music, the multiplayer, the attitude, and, most importantly, the speed - everything about it amazed me.

For its time, Sonic 2 is a beautiful game, with detailed backgrounds, a bright array of colours, and no slowdown (except in 2-P mode, which I will get into in a moment).

The plot is simple enough. You are Sonic, the blue hedgehog of the title. You have to stop Dr. Robotnik (AKA Eggman) from taking over the world. But this time you have a sidekick, who comes in the form of Miles "Tails" Prower, a two-tailed fox. He can fly, just not in this game. That feature is instead added in the game's sequel, Sonic 3.

The gameplay is very simple. You move from left to right, jumping into enemies, performing spin-dashes, and going very fast. There is also an optional side-quest of collecting the Chaos Emeralds, which, after collecting all seven, grant you the power of turning into Super Sonic, turning you invincible at the cost of 50 rings. You also gain a speed increase, which is slightly a double-edged sword, as the controls become slightly fiddly and sensitive in this form.

The music is what you would expect from a game in the early 90's - Peppy, upbeat, and catchy. play this game for about five minutes, and you'll be humming the music for the rest of the day.

2 Player mode is the main difference from the first game, giving you the option to race your friends through 4 stages - Emerald Hill, Casino Night, Mystic Cave, and Special Stage, where the game goes semi-3D. You have two levels with the player who gets a better score winning. In the case of a tie, You get a Special Stage to decide. There are occasions of slowdown, however, especially in Mystic Cave, which slightly spoils the experience.

Overall, however, Sonic 2 is a great game, and a true classic. You can't call yourself a true gamer until you've played it.
