ok well rant time it is...
first off, my aunt died 2 weeks ago, as some of you may know, I've now been dating Sophie for 3 months (will be 4 on December 12th)...I also have a really brutal cold and I need rest, but because you can only miss a total of 5 classes for the school I go to, I'm pretty much screwed for getting any rest until December 18th and the night of the 18th I'll be spending with my girlfriend and a few close friends because it's her birthday. then I get to crash til Jan 6th. Then on January 6th I go back to school and will work like a maniac til June 26th (just 147 days to go!) Also OSHAC has me burned out too, really burned out actually... my body is screaming REST at me, but my mind has to keep forcing my body to go on!
So before I become a rambley asshole, I NEED A FUCKIN VACATION!

Ok I know alot of leafs nation are speculating that Brian Burke is coming to Toronto, especially now after he's stepped aside as the ducks GM... but I honestly can say BULLSHIT on this one! Yes he quit, but that does not mean that he quit to be GM for the leafs, I think that cliff fletcher is going to be GM til the end of the season atleast, and then Joe Niuendyk will take over as leafs general manager, yes I know he's untested, but he could be the next GM because he is basically assistant GM right now.
Ok, sorry if this ramble seemed half hearted, I just wanted to state this, and the reason it's half hearted is because I don't feel well! Damn colds to hell!

This post relates to:
Have you ever waited in line for a midnight game release before? If so, what was it like?
I just don't see the point of it. And my city is so small we usually have to wait 3-4 days after the official release to even get the games in!

My Take On The Leafs Season 2: Part 2 11/3/08
Hello and welcome to this ramble on the leafs on this Monday November 3rd 2008 edition of my take on the leafs. As I stated in my last blog entry this blog is now Giant Bomb exclusive, the reasoning behind this was because I felt I had to censor what I could say on this blogs previous home from all of last season, Game Spot. So with out further ado let the bitching begin!
The leafs really have done quite well for the past few games, going into the Home in Home series against the Carolina Hurricanes the leafs had won 4 out of 5 games, which is a pretty good record! That is in fact playoff worthy that would set the leafs up for a (rough math here, so please excuse any mistakes) 97.6 points! Will the leafs actually make the playoffs? Doubtful. Because, the leafs have very inconsistent and young players. However, the leafs prospects are actually starting to step up! John Mitchell is playing amazingly, in fact he’s I’d say gained his confidence at the NHL level, he started out rather slowly but now he’s got 5 points in 3 games, or something similar, he’s actually a good player for the leafs to have because he does EVERYTHING!
Now I’m going to really bitch here, so please excuse any really long rambles in this section of my blog… Mike Van Ryn, people were complaining that we gave up too much to get him; I believe it was McCabe (who has only played ONE game this season!) and a 2nd round draft selection. And Van Ryn’s numbers this season have actually been spectacular considering the leafs are in a rebuilding year, and he’s actually playing BETTER then our SUPERSTAR defenceman Thomas Kaberle! Not only is Van Ryn a + but he has 2 more points in 1 less game then Kaberle! And Kaberle is a – rating this season! So you be the judge, who’s the better player? And this you might find interesting Van Ryn is making a lot less money then Kaberle is as well! Seriously he’s a lot fucking better then what we gave up to get him! Also the numbers to get a player post 1st round into the NHL are something like only 5% so, really it’s better to get a player that can help in the short and the long term, and Van Ryn is definitely that. In fact I bet that in a few years if the leafs do decide to trade him for a younger player we’ll be getting a lot in return or at the very least a fair value trade!
Also I would like to retract my previous statement about Stamkos, he has been playing a lot better as of late his points and stats are as follows: 2 goals, 2 assists, 10 games played, 4 points, +/- of –1 and 6 penalty minutes. Stamkos still needs to crash the net more but he has also gained a little bit of confidence I’d say. Though it’s still too early to honestly judge his NHL playing career as it’s only 10 games old.
Rumor Mill:
Well, I thought I’d add this, though I do not condone making my own rumors I do enjoy going onto sports sites such as yahoo.ca etc to find out the latest rumors going about in the NHL rumor mill and there has been one that has sparked my interest (I found this one out from LeafsFanInOttawa on youtube.com in this rumor the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Montreal Canadiens are both going after Ilya Kolvalchuck, will this trade actually come to fruition? Or is this just a trade that gets thrown out there and leads nowhere? Either way it is interesting to speculate
And continuing with the rumors, Mats Sundin seems to be in talks with the Vancouver Canucks… So it looks like the Canuckleheads have found a replacement for Markus Naslund!
Ok since it’s now 12:22 AM eastern time, I shall be ending my ramblings here… hope the leafs do just as well this week as they did last week, and that the leafs actually do make the playoffs, though if we tank it I shall also be happy with that, I will not be happy with a barely out of the playoffs positioning, because then management will probably only do little minor tweaks to the roster if that happens, and that is not what the leafs need, they need to stock pile on young players and draft picks if they wish for this rebuild to actually be a success!

I now have all 3 City & Colour CDs!
Sometimes (First Release)
Live (second released)
Bring Me Your Love (Third Released, 2nd studio)
I love all 3 of them, Live is mostly Sometimes but a live version of it, but Dallas Green plays 3 songs off of Bring Me Your Love, I highly recomend anyone who loves Alexisonfire, or ballady rock music to pick these 3 CDs up, even Dallas Green's depressing songs such as What Makes a Man (Bring Me Your Love) and Body In A Box (Bring Me Your Love) are awesome songs and will make you feel better about your own life, Dallas Green (City & Colour/Alexisonfire) really is one of the most talented musicians around right now! So check some of his songs out on youtube then if you like it buy the CDs because honestly they are worth it!
