    BANNED from XBOX LIVE!!!
Well, I beat Gears 2 on "insane" last night while online on LIVE and woke up this morning to play some "horde" online and found out that my XBOX has been banned from LIVE.  I couldn't believe it.  Guess that's what I get for modding my 360.  They say all over the net if you do this and that they can't tell, but don't let that fool you.  I've been playin' burnt games for months and just got banned out of nowhere!  I was planning on playing some more World At War free-for-all, too.  There goes my day.  Well, I ...

After getting banned from LIVE, I sold my PS3 to get a new 360.  So, I now have 2.  One for offline and one for online.  I was suprised how cool the guy from Microsoft was on the phone about it.  He just basically told me to get a new one and use one for online and the other for offline.  I got a bunch of new games, a few of which I've tried and some I haven't touched yet.  The games are:

  • Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe (Haven't tried it yet)
  • Naruto: The Broken Bond (Haven't tried it yet)
  • Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts (Haven't tried it yet)
  • Mirror's Edge (I would like to play through this game, but I can't even get past the fuckin' tutorial.  Seriously.)
  • Legendary (Hated this game at first, but it kinda grew on me and I'm almost done with it.)

I am planning on getting World At War and Left For Dead on Tuesday.  So yeah...(makes a fart noise)

For anyone who gives a shit.  I think I just finished Saint's Row 2.  I just beat what I think is the last mission, but after that it says "you have enough respect to play more missions" - but no more missions show up on the map.  Maybe it means the side missions?  Anyways, I thought the game was way better than G.T.A 4.  I had A LOT more fun playing S.R.2.  than I did playing G.T.A 4.  To me, it controlled better (character, shooting, vehicles), had better missions and side missions that weren't so repetative and boring, and a lot more customization, etc.  The graphics fall a little short, but you'll overlook that by how much fun you're having.  I am 20 hours in and there is still so much to do.

I am also what I believe to be half way through Golden Axe: Beast Rider.  I'm loving it so far.  It's a lot of fun, but nothing really groundbreaking or new.  I'm guessing Gamespot will give it anywhere from a 6 to 7.  Typical hack 'n slash with a unique fighting system.   Reminds me of the games Conan and Heavenly Sword mixed.  With all the games comin' out I wouldn't say buy, but a good rent or game to get in the future.

Dead Space comes out today...I'm excited.

Resistance comes to the 360

I have been missing my Wii a lot lately and have decided to go and rent some games for it today.  The two I have in mind are "Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles" and "De Blob."  Time to step out the box for a few days and play somethin' different.  Oh, Did you hear Resistance 2 is comin' to the 360?  How cares, heh?  I'm bored.  Later.

Just got Lego Batman & Brothers In Arms: Hell's Highway yesterday.  Thought I'd tell you what I think of them.

Lego Batman:  The best Lego adventure yet.  They've added some new stuff and fixed a few things I didn't like about the other lego games (i.e. having to sit through the unskippable cutscenes over and over again).  You play through the episodes from the hero's point of view and then go back and play the levels from the villian's point of view.  I'm already addicted to this game.

Brother's In Arms Hell's Highway:  I've only played this once for about an hour to try it out.  So far it's alright.  Seems like you can shoot a guy 400 times and it doesn't do anything to him.  You'll be wasting a lot of ammo.  Plus, you command your squad to do something and they wont do anything.  Also, I don't like the controls much.  Zoom in aim is click RS instead of LT and LT is command squad, so I keep commanding my squad to do things I don't want them to on accident and they end up getting killed.  Overall, it's pretty good but nothing really new.

Turning Point: Fall Of Liberty

Being a fan of FPS' I downloaded the Demo for Turning Point: Fall Of Liberty and enjoyed it. It was nothing great, but a fun game. I didn't think it was worth full price, so I waited 'till I found one on e-bay for $20. After playing the demo I didn't see how this game was getting under 5 scores. Then, after getting the game, it was clear why. The bad outweighs the good.

THE BAD:
-Choppy framerate
-Loading screens right while you're in the middle of battle and climbing up ladders
-Game freezes from time to time making you have to reset it and start over.
-Buttons sometimes unresponsive. You'll go to aim or shoot and it won't do anything like your contoller's busted.
-A lot of little things in your way that get you "trapped" when they shouldn't. (Like a little 2X4 on the ground and you can't run when a grenade's thrown at you cause it's blocking your path)
-Very unclear at times what you're supposed to do and where you're supposed to go.
-Not enough guns. (There are like 4)
-Enemies will run behind a corner and disappear then you'll go looking for them just to find out they don't exist anymore.
-Dead enemies float in the air at times or die "in-between" a wall.
-Feels like a generic Call Of Duty or Medal Of Honor.
-The story sucks and you have no idea who your character is.
...and list goes on and on.

THE GOOD:
-It's fun killing people.
-It's not as bad as Conflict or Hour Of Victory.
-It's challenging at times.

Overall, it was a fun game...but short. I wish I would've rented it. I'll give it a 6.5 because I don't think it's THAT horrible. Codemasters should have spent a lot more time on it.

Hours and Hours of Fun

After playin' Lego Indiana Jones and havin' such a good time with it I decided to pick up Lego star Wars: The Complete Saga.  This is a great game for kids and adults.  It's violent, but in a "cute" way.  It's funny and just plain fun.  You don't have to worry about dying (if you lose your hearts you DO lose some valuable studs, though, which you need to buy various things like characters and special abilities or advance to 100% in the game) and you can just have a lot of fun with it.  After you complete the story mode it unlocks "free play" mode which lets you play with all different sorts of characters that you couldn't be in story mode that have special abilities to unlock certain parts in the level that were inaccessable before.  Making the replay value very high.  This is one of the only games I've ever had that I can just play for hours and hours on end and never get tired of it.  Another thing that makes it fun is that it's so easy to play and you KNOW you can get all the achievements if you just try.  It's not like some games where it seems impossible to get anywhere unless you master the game after months and months of playing it.  But it does take some time.  It's no where near as easy as Lego Indiana and it's a lot bigger.  There's a lot more stuff you need to collect and no cheat codes to get you there quicker.  So, if your lookin' for a game that you can just kick back and have fun with check this one out.  It's got TONS of replay value and well worth $49.99.

Aint got NOTHING on Street Fighter

Being a huge fan of Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat, Soul Calibur was a fighting game I never really got into.  I tried it once on the PS2 a few years back and thought it was okay, but nowhere near as good as Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat.  Well, now it's come out next gen and you can play online.  Why not try it out?  Well, I did and I'm not impressed.  First of all I don't know who any of the characters are, since I wasn't into the first games, or any of their moves or special attacks.  The characters look ridiculous and most of them are the same with just a few different attributes.  Their little voice taunts, etc, are stupid and weak.  I was excited to play as Vader, but he doesn't even look like he does in the movies.  In my opinion his suit looks weird.  I was pretty disappointed to find out you can't jump (you can, but like half a foot in the air - not to kick them in the air like Street Fighter) I've been playin' for hours and just cannot get the feel of this game and am just not "feelin' it."  I don't like how it's 3D and not 2D.  I hate how the block button is "x" on the PS3.  I guess I'm just so used to Street Fighter and the button scheme is "implanted" in my head.  I keep holding back to block and end up getting ripped a new asshole.  Overall, it's kinda fun to play considering it is really the only  next-gen fighting game you can play online at the moment (I think, besides Virtua Fighter).  People that love Soul Calibur will love this game.  It's got customization, good graphics, and new characters, etc.  But for me, a STREET FIGHTER fan it doesn't impress me and looks kinda "stupid."  I would give it a 2/5, but since you can play online I'll give it a 3.
