Bombin' the A.M. With Scoops and the Wolf
You can now filter search results with text. Example: "person: john" will search only person pages for "john".
They may not make games like this anymore, but maybe they should. Larian's latest CRPG is a deeply satisfying turn-based adventure that rewards players with patience.
Diablo III is a great game that, despite its mouse-and-keyboard roots, adapts to consoles surprisingly well.
Ubisoft Montpellier's take on the first World War is a surprisingly heartfelt adventure.
@kanerobot: I mean more the orchestra and dramatics than what they debuted him in.
If you're going to debut Sting in anything WWE, this is just about the perfect way to do that. Marked out like a little kid over this video. Plus, Sting's Crow music is kind of the best for this sort of dramatics.
Count me in as another sucker who will probably pre-order and be disappointed terribly.
It's no longer enough to ignore the hatred that so many people spew. We have to fight them. They're wrong, and they don't get to win just because they shout the loudest.
Be careful with how you implement this mindset as going out to 'attack the attackers' only ever leads to more harassment and larger incidents (after all, this entire message was posted because several people thought it was right to attack critics they viewed as 'attacking' Giant Bomb).
If a person seems to be harassing another or otherwise seems to be taking things far too far, the best thing you could do would be to try to calmly explain to them that what they are doing is wrong; if they don't stop after that, there's always the Report button which can be quietly and unobtrusively used to summon the mods to take a look at things and let them decide if the poster in question is in the wrong and what punishment, if any, should be meted out.
Counter-harassment is still harassment.
I definitely want to second this statement. We've moderated users many times in the past for attacking other users they felt (sometimes accurately, sometimes not) had run afoul of the rules. Just because someone else is being a jerk doesn't give you the right to be a jerk in return; instead, it means we have to look into swinging our hammers twice rather than once.
Participating while being excellent to one another helps a lot more, as far as I'm concerned.
All hail our Pizza Horizon 2 overlords!
Stuffed crust is day one DLC, be sure to pre-order for extra pizza tokens
@b0nd07: Those designs look great -- I like where this is going! The patriotic Lincoln Force design is especially appropriate given the upcoming Memorial Day weekend race at Charlotte.
@dixavd: Completely understandable, and I appreciate the thought, regardless. iRacing does take care of most of the contingency sponsor placement and that sort of required stuff, but it can be hard to envision a good design for a car. That's why I'm backing off from this challenge, as my skill as design is somewhere between "pasting logos" and "shamelessly ripping off the great art of others," neither of which I've been able to translate into a good Gen6 paint.
@datarez: I know a lot of those images in high-rez form are sitting around various threads on the site, but I'm running short on time to find them at the moment. I'll see if I can dig some of that out sometime this week if I get the chance.
@believer258: Well, yeah.
Gang Beasts is one of the best segments ever. Not to be missed.
How do you guys communicate during the races? Teamspeak or just what Iracing provides?
Just what iRacing provides. Personally, I'm not big on external voice chat programs.
Quick question for the crazy point system: if you're going to be absent will you just take the last place points? And if there're two absences, would the person who says so first be one higher up? Example: say I'm unable to show up March 21 and Mouse couldn't either. He said so a week in advance and I said three days. Fifteen total people show up for the race. So, would he end up in 14th place and I in 15th?
Nothing of the sort. A no-show is zero points, even if announced in advance, and can count as a drop in Formula Duder. BOMBCAR and Giant Bomb GT won't have any drops this season.
I had a system similar to what you described during one season of Forza's GB Super Series, but I don't think it worked very well. People with only a few excellent races finished ahead of some of the more frequent drivers. I think I'd rather design a points system that's more lenient to no-shows than give people points for not appearing.
@chaser324: I just double-checked my personal version of the latest top 100 (which was last updated in May, incidentally right before I got hooked on iRacing), and it's not on there, even sub-100. I don't think I've played enough Super Hang-On to have a qualified opinion of it, though my brief plays of the arcade bike version were quite fun.
