Allow us to add custom genres (like CORPG / MMOFPS) to the list of genre's we can select as numerous games are incorrectly labeled as MMORPG because of it. :D

This is by far one of my Favorite Franchise's for the Xbox 360, this game was amazing and because of it I started developing my presence in the Professional Gamer Career. WildFires Top 3 PC Games

#3 Unreal Tournament 3
Game Trailer Review: http://www.gametrailers.c....html Launch Trailer: http://www.gametrailers.c....html

Reason: I have enjoyed Unreal Tournament 3 since I first picked it up, I have to say that this game is fantastic and that I have actually not played it in the PC (yet). I Can tell you that this game has some VERY cool innovations such as User Created maps on the PC version and the Playstation 3 version. Another cool feature is that it still has the twitch like gameplay from when it first started, I recommend buying this game!

#2 Crysis
Game Trailer Review: http://www.gametrailers.c....html Launch Trailer: http://www.gametrailers.c....html

Reason:I'm probably going to have a lot of mixed comments from the people who ACTUALLY read my blog because Crysis is loved by a lot of people and hated by and equal amount. First off Crysis is by far the best Graphics I have ever seen in any game and its sure to be future proof for hardware coming to us in 2008 and even 2009. Crysis is sure to please anyone with its graphics and its gameplay is very good but the only thing holding it back is the fact that if you want to run it at the highest resolution with DirectX 10 and all the settings on high you are going to need to take a second mortgage out on your house and install Windows Vista. My favorite part about Crysis is the Cloak and sneaking up and killing people.

#1 Team Fortress 2
Game Trailer Review: (There isn't one)

Launch Trailer: http://www.gametrailers.c...e=wmv

Reason: the reason I gave Team Fortress my number one spot is simple, Team Fortress 2 is one of the best games when it comes to online play, you can play with a maximum of 32 other players, There is built in voice chat (VIA Steam). My favorite part of Team Fortress 2 would have to be the class play, no matter what type of player you are there are many choices for which class you can be ranging from a Scout (The most agile and offensive power house on any team) to the Medic (The defenses main player).
The Achievement system is also very good, it adds a new set of goals to obtain while you are having fun playing the game. In future updates valve will be releasing achievements for each specific class. The first class to receive such an update will be the Medic who will receive 35 new achievements during an update that valve hasn't released a date for. Another nice feature of Team Fortress 2 like all Valve games is that users can create custom maps and can also make custom textures and custom sounds for increased user customizability. Note to mention that Team Fortress 2 is a true next generation game that offers gameplay on the PC and the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3!, I urge you to pick up one of the copies on your preferred system but my favorite would have to be the PC edition!

Enjoy this blog and continue to read my blog's as I add more.

WildFires Top Freeware Picks

There are literally millions of “Freeware” programs available on various websites but what do I “Cody” (xTalent) think are the best freeware programs?. Well I intend to answer that question by providing a list of my favorite freeware programs and maybe a brief description. Please feel free to download any of the programs I have listed as they're are Free-To-Use forever and and free to download. (They are also Virus Free), some of these you may agree with and some of them you may not but remember this is my opinion and based on the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms I have the right to voice my opinion as long as its within the law and does not affect anyone or anything physically.

Definition of Freeware: “Software that is available for download and unlimited use without charge.“

Best Freeware

#1. Mozilla Firefox: (Web browser)
URL: http://www.mozilla.com/en...efox/
The award-winning Mozilla Firefox Web browser is enjoyed by tens of millions of people worldwide, and has re-ignited innovation and competition on the Web. Our porting page lists the platforms (ports) that OpenOffice.org can run on.

CCleaner is a freeware system optimization and privacy tool. It removes unused files from your system - allowing Windows to run faster and freeing up valuable hard disk space. It also cleans traces of your online activities such as your Internet history. The Azureus name was given to the project by co-creator Tyler Pitchford, who uses the Latin names of poison dart frogs as codenames for his development projects.

Okay back to blogging,
Game Description By VALVe
Team Fortress® 2 (TF2) is the sequel to the game that put class-based, multiplayer team warfare on the map. This year’s most anticipated online action game, TF2 delivers new gametypes, a signature art style powered by Valve’s next generation animation technology, persistent player statistics, and more.

Unlike other “class-based” games that offer a variety of combat classes only, Team Fortress 2 packs a wild variety of classes which provide a broad range of tactical abilities and personalities, and lend themselves to a variety of player skills.

Play as the flame-throwing Pyro, the room clearing Heavy, or the Spy, a master of disguises. Other classes include: Scout, Sniper, Medic, Engineer, Demoman, or Soldier.

TF2 features the most advanced graphics of any Source-based game released to date – and the most exciting class-based action ever created.

My Description / History
Team Fortress® 2 was developed and continuing to be developed by the VALVe corporation. The version of Team Fortress 2 that we currently are allowed to play & enjoy is currently the sequel to "Team Fortress Classic" a game which developed and to this day continues to develope the gaming term "Class Based Play", TFC (Team Fortress Classic) was originally supposed to be the second version of QuakeWorld Mod but the developers later joined VALVe and developed Team Fortress Classic. Team Fortress 2 is the next title in the series and offered class based gameplay in higher resolutions and better detail, the game though is not extremely popular with "Many" (Many, not all) Team Fortress Classic veterans as grenades have been removed and major tweeks to the gameplay which changed the game from a "Professionals Destroy" to a "Casual Gamers are good to" type of game but still Team Fortress 2 is bundled in the Orange Box so any lover of Half-Life 2: Episode 2 that purchased the orange box has this and most likely has played it at least once.

There are 9 classes in Team Fortress 2 which consist of,
Pyro - A flamethrower wielding maniac that is good at close range but gets increasingly hard to play as enemies farther and father away from him.

Heavy - The heavy is essentially the "Rambo" of Team Fortress 2, his gun has a clip of 200 ammo which requires no reloading time between shooting. He is very strong with both his fists and his guns but the shotgun he carries is lacking and "most" people will rarely use it.

Spy - The stealthiest of all the Team Fortress 2 classes uses disguises to sneak behind his enemy and backstab them with his "Instakill / 1 Shot Kill from behind" knife. He also has the ability to shoot using what looks like a Magnum revolver which is very powerful at close ranges but lacks the ability of far range combat. The spy can also "Cloak" for roughly 10 - 15 seconds which recharges while he's not using it.

Scout - Essentially this is the Intel (Flag) carrying class as he has the fastest foot movement in the game rated at Cl_forwardspeed / Backspeed / sidespeed of "450". The scouts weapons consist of a pistol, baseball bat, scattergun which are all good in there own ways and pared with his "Double Jumping" ability is a deadly combo when skilled with a "good" (And I mean good, none of that 9 - 1 good, 500 - 0 good) player.

Sniper - As his name implies he is the "Sniper" class which uses a sniper rifle, machete, machine gun (auto Sniper). He has the strongest critical strike when he's fully charged while scoped. A single fully charged sniper bullet can kill a heavy in one shot if he hits the heavies head. He is essentially a support class used for defending and pushes against the enemy defense, he's also the best character for long-range and I recommend playing him once in a while to experience some fun!

Medic - The medic is the main healing class of this game, in theory the medic is useless in most games but in Team Fortress 2 he has a Buzzsaw and a syringe-firing flechette gun and of course a "Medigun" aka that thing that heals you. He has the ability to use an "Ubercharge" which is usable after charging the uber meter by healing team mates.

Engineer - This is the best class in terms of defense in my opinion, he has a wrench which he can use as a weapon and also use to repair engineer built Sentries, Teleporters, Dispensers. The only actual gun he has is a shot gun which is weaker then the scouts scattergun. Building sentries is by far one of the best things to do in a Team Fortress game and has inspired other games to include an engineer type class which builds things.

Demoman - This class uses sticky bombs from his sticky bomb launcher and also has a grenade launcher which can shoot 4 grenades before being reloaded. He is the most explosive character in ANY game I have ever seen. If you like drunk Scottish people (thats his persona, a drunk scottish person) you will enjoy this class. He also uses a beer bottle with what looks like three black X's on the bottle to beat his enemies to death.

Soldier - This is one of the main offensive characters in Team Fortress 2, he has a rocket launcher, shot gun, shovel and has the ability to rocket jump which you can achieve by shooting a rocket at your feet while jumping at the exact moment the rocket explodes. He's the best class in terms of Speed Vs Firepower as all his weapons are effective.

Now you know a brief bit about the game and I hope you pick it up, the next section is just going to be screenshot's and maybe some text if I feel like writing.

Addons, An addon is a piece of coding that adds customized features or increases features in Firefox, these are my recommendations and most of them improve or customize firefox for the better.

Adblock Plus
Ever been annoyed by all those ads and banners on the internet that often take longer to download than everything else on the page? Install Adblock Plus now and get rid of them. Right-click on a banner and choose "Adblock" from the context menu - the banner won't be downloaded again. Maybe even replace parts of the banner address with star symbols to block similar banners as well. Or you select a filter subscription when Adblock Plus starts up the first time, then even this simple task will usually be unnecessary: the filter subscription will block most advertisements fully automatically.
Download URL: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865

Download Status Bar
View and manage downloads from a tidy statusbar - without the download window getting in the way of your web browsing. Despite its compact size, Download Statusbar packs in more useful features than the standard download window. The fully customizable interface auto-hides when not in use, allowing full control without interruption.
Download URL: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/26

IE Tab (Add's the ability to view "Internet Explorer" only pages in Mozilla Firefox)
IE Tab - an extension from Taiwan, features: Embedding Internet Explorer in tabs of Mozilla/Firefox... This is a great tool for web developers, since you can easily see how your web page displayed in IE with just one click and then switch back to Firefox.

DownThemAll is absolutely freeware and open-source. No Adware, no Spyware.

FasterFox (This is the single Addon that makes Firefox twice as fast.)
Performance and network tweaks for Firefox.
Fasterfox allows you to tweak many network and rendering settings such as simultaneous connections, pipelining, cache, DNS cache, and initial paint delay.

Dynamic speed increases can be obtained with the unique prefetching mechanism, which recycles idle bandwidth by silently loading and caching all of the links on the page you are browsing.

Download URL: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1269
Note: It will auto configure Firefox to the maximum speed for "Your" specific connection upon completing the installation.

The game itself has 2 classes, The Mage and The Warrior, once you level your mage or warrior to a minimum of level 25 (XXV) and complete all the labyrinth's you can "Arch" which add's a Cape to your characters model and giving mages Duration (Makes Lightning last longer, etc), while Warriors recieve the skill Rage (increases damage as you attack). There is however a third option, you become a Seyan, a Jack-Of-All trades type class that uses both magic and warrior skills, they lose the chance to gain Duration and Rage but gain the power of both a Mage and a Warrior, later in the game you can also Arch your seyan which is said to add a "Hidden" duration bonus.

The game is lacking in graphics but the community is worth it and I have continued to enjoy this game for along time until recently when I decided to move on from the game and pursue my real life dreams :)

Natural Selection #1

Natural Selection, word's cannot describe what this game means to so many people, it was originally developed by an independent development team known as "Unknown Worlds", Unknown Worlds still develops Natural Selection and the game already has another planned released with work already having started on it.

Personally if you have Half-Life 1, and enjoy the immense FPS experience being mixed with RTS style gameplay this is the SFPS (Strategic First Person Shooter) for you. Currently the community of Natural Selection is small but with the Release of Natural Selection two approaching giant companies such as Valve have taken notice in the game and even have offered help with the development process which has boosted the size of the once small and closs community to a large amount of players!

Overall Metacritic Score: 9.6 out of 10 http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/pc/teamfortress2

Personal Rating 10 out of 10

As you can see by the ratings of other websites, Team Fortress 2 is very popular and is one of the highest rated games of 2007. Additionally it earned two perfect ratings from "GameSpy" and "AceGamez", this is very impressive and adds more of a reason to buy it than anyone's opinion.

Team Fortress 2 only earned 2 ratings below 90% (90 out of 100) on Metacritic and those ratings are from "IC-Games" and "The New York Times", the reasons that they gave the game low ratings are reasonable and they are still in the top rating numbers (80 - 100).

Features:

Fable: The Lost Chapters!

Challenge: The challenge in Fable: The Lost Chapters isn't exactly hard. As a hardcore gamer, I'm expecting more of a challenge, especially if you're forced to use your melee weapon in almost every situation, causing you to become strong enough to nearly one-two hit everything in the game. While playing this game on Xbox is fun, pressing the block and attack buttons for a few hours of gameplay isn't exactly entertaining. Then again, the developer (Lionhead) wanted a game that would appeal to new or casual and / or hardcore gamers which Fable has done for me. This game is excellent in almost every aspect except challenge. The monsters in the game are dead with one or two strikes from your hero’s sword, and provide little to no challenge for serious / hardcore gamers. It may seem like I dislike this game, but I don't. This game provided with many hours of entertainment.

Length: Essentially you have the original Fable story (7 hours for most people) plus the 30% extra playtime provided by the addition of The Lost Chapters (2.1 hours) which adds up to roughly 9 to 10 hours of gameplay if you follow the linear story. You may continue the game after you defeat the final boss, though, so you can continue to play in Fable for an unlimited amount of hours doing whatever you want. That includes killing every person in every town (Such as Bowerstone) and killing enemies which still randomly spawn in-game giving you roughly another few years of gameplay (until the game disc breaks, etc.)

In closing, I'd recommend this game for any RPG lover on both the PC and Xbox, but remember Fable 2 is just around the corner so this game is going to become old news very soon.

8 out of 10 stars. It's a great game, but it took Lionhead two tries to get the game fully released.

The Orange Box: Best Deal in Gaming!

I'm going to break my review into seven parts, the eight parts are Challenge, Graphics, Responsiveness, Storyline, Controls, Interface, Sound and Value.

Challenge: The challenge in "The Orange Box" (The Orange Box will be expressed as either Orange Box or TBO or The Orange Box from this point) is great, with multiple settings in Half-Life 2 and Portal plus you have your own choice of servers for Team Fortress 2 which is a great feature for any game. Don't expect to be play Half-Life 2: Episode 1 & 2 for 40 hours each as they're meant to be short "Chapter" like additions to Half-Life 2 which is also included in this package and provided 20 - 30 hours of "SINGLE PLAYER" playtime which is great when you take into account that after you've beat the game you also have Episode One and Episode two which last close to ten hours each which turns into 40 - 50 hours of single player playtime which is absolutely amazing for this type of game.

Graphics: The graphics are based on the Source Engine which powers Counter-Strike: Source, Dark Messiah, Half-Life 2 and many other games. The graphics aren't going to make your computer scream in pain but they will offer a great experience for both Casual and Serious gamers. You do not need a $4000.00 computer to play any of the games in The Orange Box just turn the graphic settings down or reduce your game from DirectX 9 & 10 to DirectX 8.1.

Responsiveness: You're kidding me right?, Everyone knows VALVe is amazing when it comes to responsiveness in their First-Person Shooter games and with Team Fortress 2 you are going to experience some Twitch Like Gameplay depending on which class you pick (9 total in Team Fortress 2, all with achievements and soon to have Unlockable weapons for each class with the medics coming first.) and VALVe perfects the Puzzle Genre with Portal which was so amazing there are already plans for a Portal 2 (which has been released by VALVe & The Portal Team on a Video that was being shot in the VALVe HQ).

Storyline: Try Half-Life 2 and try to tell me a reason why this game doesn't deserve a 10 out of 10, you have vehicle combat integrated into the story, you have "Emotions" that are expressed in numerous ways throughout the store, but due to spoiling the game(s) I cannot give them away. Lets just say that VALVe has been making Single Player games since the 90's and are some of the best story developers out there.

Controls: You can customize your controls in ANY VALVe game by pressing "Escape" and selecting options, the GUI that "Pops up" also allows you to customize Graphics, Sound, Level of Challenge (Easy, Normal, Hard) and even allows you to customize your name in "Most" games, excluding Team Fortress 2 which uses your Steam Friend name as your ingame name.

Interface: 2786 Letters already, this isn't a review its a story!. The interface has all basic First-Person Shooter requirements, Crosshair (Which can be customized), HP / AP, Time, Indicators for special events, etc. Flashlight power, etc. The GUI also scales itself to whichever resolution you pick which is something a lot of games do "NOT" do.

Sound: The sound in all VALVe games has always been amazing and most of the game support EAX enhancement and all games support 2.1 to 5.1 surround sound audio when setup properly you may find a way to have 7.1 Surround sound coming out of Source Engine games to. The sound is also very crisp and is one of the main features of the game and VALVe realized this and started developing game specific music / sounds for every title they released.

Value: Let me just list the games you are purchasing when you buy a single "Orange Box" made by VALVe.

Team Fortress 2 (Online Multiplayer First-Person Shooter with Classes and Capture the Flag like Gameplay)
Portal (Puzzle game thats ACTUALLY Fun!)
Half-Life 2
Half-Life 2: Episode 1
Half-Life 2: Episode 2
Half-Life 2: Deathmatch
Peggle Extreme (Another puzzle game that was made to advertise The Orange Box)

each game is valued at nearly 59.99 each, (29.99 by VALVe) so it doesn't take a genius ti figure out that in this box you are getting close to $210.00 to $420.00 worth of games in a 49.99 dollar package.

I would highly recommend this product for both Casual and Hardcore games, it provided me with 600 hours of Team Fortress 2 playtime and 40 hours of Half-Life 2 playtime and a disappointing but amazing 10 hour playtime of Portal.

4432 Letters not bad!

Call of Duty 4

I have been playing First-Person Shooters for along time, recently I was persuaded to purchase Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare by a few of my Clan members. I'm extremely impressed with the challenge Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare has when compared to other massive First-Person shooter titles, Counter-Strike, Unreal Tournament 3, etc.

The games graphics are great considering the frames per second your computer can push out, with my older system which currently has "A" ATI 2600 Pro I average 90 - 110 FPS, On my newer system (Tri-SLI) I push 200 FPS with all settings maxed and at 1920 x 1600, the graphics at the lower settings are wonderful and still compete with numerous other First-Person Shooters such as Counter-Strike: Source and Unreal Tournament 3 and they only get better as you turn on Anti-Aliasing and Dynamic Lighting.

The sound in all Call of Duty games has always been great in my opinion and this is because of the depth the developer(s) have gone in to (They actually went to IRAQ to record sounds) record the sounds, actually going to a battlefield in IRAQ to capture game sounds is something only Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare has.

Networking: Every First-Person Shooter requires a great network, and Call of Duty 4 can take advantage of servers with pings in any range, currently being a Canadian player I experience pings of 100 - 150 in most of American Servers (Unless they're in Texas or Chicago) but at a ping of nearly 150 I experience "No Lag" and have never had a better experience playing an online shooter because most of the servers I play with experie
