I was going to do that, but I'm not a fan of Youtube's quality (especially when it's nice to see detail in a game). That's the reason I gave direct .wmv links as well. But, thanks.

Anyway, this video has tons of new footage. New maps, new weapons properly shown off, and a brief section with Skorge* (3:59-4:00), a completely bad-ass new Locust (think he might be the new "Raam").

* From what I understand, he's the guy below (in case you missed it in the video):

Skorge

Hey. Just found a new documentary video on the official website - thought I'd share. Go to: http://gearsofwar.xbox.com/, and it'll be on the front page. Or, go to here for the HD WMV, or here for the SD WMV (Windows Media Player required).

Enjoy, and feel free to discuss.

Man, that's awesome. The cheapest I've ever gotten it here in Canada is $56.49 after taxes ($49.99 x 1.13).

I'm not really into the whole "clan" thing ever since Return to Castle Wolfenstein for the original Xbox. But, if you want to get together for a few matches after release, I'm up for that. BTW, I don't think I'm going for that midnight release - just buy it on my way to school that day.

Yeah, I saw this yesterday (but still, thanks for posting). I like the fire effects in the background, and everything looks pretty streamlined (from what I can see). Hopefully the XBL servers don't crash on release -- so we don't get another Holiday '07 fiasco (couldn't even connect in CoD4!).

Me too man! I feel dumb wanting it so bad. haha"
Don't feel dumb! I'm anticipating this release like it's some new shiny console ... I just want it so badly. My last purchase for my Xbox 360 was GTA 4 -- and it got boring after 3 weeks. I've needed a new game for so long, and now it's the sequel to my verymostfavouritegameever!

Although I'll likely be buying Fable 2 shortly before...

"What are you two talking about?"
When someone enters a match, and the game doesn't register it properly, their name will end up being "Marcus" for some odd reason. It can change to the proper name shortly after, or boot the player. It's just something that was coded into the game - but nothing major. Honestly, I've only seen it about 7-10 times in 2 years ...

"I read a disheartening post on the official forums one day, which I can't be bothered to find right now. It was of those who had played the game at various conventions, and noticed a lot of the glitches were actually in the current build. They mentioned weapon sliding, and even crab-walking I think. But, here's the thing:
  1. EPIC has used the same build for all conventions, so although the bugs may be worked out (and exploits demolished), it may have shown differently. And there's still lots of time for fixin'.
  2. There are bots now. Assuming the bots don't glitch (haha..), you could just gather some friends and play against them. Sure, it's not the same experience, but an alternative nonetheless.
I'm confident that there WILL be glitches in the sequel, but I trust EPIC to at least address most of the issues."
Wasn't there bots in Gears 1?There was characters coming into matches called Marcus and stuff that just left after a couple of seconds."
No, there were no multi-player bots in the original. Those characters that would enter as "Marcus" was just the game not properly registering the user - sort of a "placeholder."
