Stupid Final Frontier

My hype for hitting 20 reminds me of World of Warcraft. The other levels, whatever, but that 2-digit number with the zero at the end always gets me excited.

But Final Frontier refuses to give up! I have the second page of Final Frontier left out the entire quest set, and I'm currently on the page right now, thanks to the hint referring to the 10th episode of How to Build a Bomb, and yet it STILL fights me! Anyone have any other ideas as to how this is happening? Am I just on the wrong page?

Yeah, I gave Prototype an 8.3.

I really enjoyed it. I had the conversation with my friend Bronson, (you know, "the battle of Prototype and Infamous" dispute) and he put Infamous over Prototype.

Now, I completely understand this. When you look at it, Infamous is a much better game. It is definitely superior graphically, the city is bigger, has more detail, and is alive (but does not reach GTA IV alive. Then again, what does?). I personally have a problem with the gameplay itself. What really divides these games is how they're played, and I believe that it is that factor alone that divides people. Infamous plays a little like a shooter, and you feel more like a citizen when, especially when you're good, you're just another one of the patrons of the city. In Prototype, melee combat is the center of the game, and you're a badass. It really depends on which you gravitate more towards.

I personally think that, if Prototype had more money or more time, they could've made a great game. It seemed to be stuck in the last generation. If a sequel were to happen, I think it would be much much better...unless they pull a Lost Planet.

Anyway, people don't like my score because I value gameplay over everything else, story being a close second. My friend rates each part of the game equally. I would love to do that, but a lot of us, including myself, look at the score 7.3 for a game that is totally fun to play, and we're outraged. Some take it much more seriously than they need to, but sometimes you just feel a game's been underrated. So I rated it based on what I value. If the reader doesn't like what I value, they can go somewhere else.

By the way, Bronson, rate every part of the game equally? That sounds like communism, you commie bastard. lol

And yeah, these games were released a while ago. I've been having troubles with Gamefly, and while I love the Skate games, the bad feedback for the single player keeps me from renting it. I'd play multiplayer, but I don't have any friends that like Skate. So now I'm waiting for the terrible May 18, where I'm gonna fall terribly behind. I think I'm gonna go Split/Second, 'cause that seems like the game that Giant Bomb will use for TNT.

Oh Lost Planet 2...

You tripped over a series of pebbles and fell. Sorry to see you down there with all the other promising or hyped games that fell due to many little problems or one or two big problems. Say hi to Brutal Legend and Turok while you're down there.

Oh well. Capcom's got SSFIV out to keep their spirits up. I'm gonna go play some Mega Man now.

I don't care, Axe.

"What was the address?"

"What was her name?"

"Do you remember her name from our last commercial?"

No. No, Axe, I don't. I don't care. I'm not going to be aware of every goddamn detail of my commercial breaks so I can remember this girl's name. What am I supposed to say if I do get it right? "Sweet! Now I can get laid!...Oh wait...awww..."

On another note, The Big Lebowski is an amazing movie. Agh! The movies! I've gotta get back to games. Let's see how Global Agenda plays.

Achievement Unlocked...

Had to start up a blog to get the achievement, so I might as well say something, while I'm here.

I have so many games around me that I haven't beaten, I feel defeated. I can't seem to decide on playing anything. I have Heavy Rain, Mega Man 1-10, Splinter Cell: Conviction, Pokemon Diamond, World of Warcraft (damn you, WoW, and boring-ass leveling from 1 to around 50), and other. To tell you the truth, I want to play God of War III, even though I beat it already. That was a game that was fun all the way through. Heavy Rain's messed up controls and story that has gotten less and less interesting pushes me away. Pokemon Diamond is an RPG, and I'm stuck with a bunch of high level pokemon that won't obey me. Mega Man 1-10 are all day projects. Splinter Cell is, well, Splinter Cell, making it hard for me to enjoy, as much as I love good stealth games. World of Warcraft is dead set on making me bored until I get to a high enough level to raid. I'd much rather play a game that is fun all the time, like God of War III.

Anyway, that's what I've been doing. Nothing. I'll probably be playing WoW while I listen to a couple of Bombcasts. I hear that's the only way of getting through it all, and I did that with Burnout Paradise, so I don't doubt it. But first!, let's complete some more achievements here.
