The first brand new game to be sold through GoG will be CD Projekt's very own The Witcher 2.

Hopefully it won't be overpriced like other new games sold through digital distribution. Seriously, CODBLOPS was 60 Euros on Steam, whereas the cheapest I could find it in brick and mortar shops was 30 Euros. Outrageous. 
 
So, will you be getting the downloadable version or the disk version?

I'll be getting the retail version, although I can see the downloadable version being a good deal, as CD Projekt RED are also behind GOG.

How big is this thing? Over 20 gigs?

Will be most likely be getting the physical CE version, since I really want to support CD Project as much as possible.

Steam > Retail > Other digital distribution
 
My preference anyway - Ive used things like impulse and EA to buy games before, but its just a pain in the balls when you have multiple digital distribution clients to juggle.

GoG doesn't install any software onto your computer though. Its not exactly like Steam or GFW.

I'll be getting a physical copy of the collector's edition. CD Projekt deserves all of my money for their greatness.

That's an irrational fear though. Only crazy people base their purchases on farfetched paranoid fears.

Hope it comes to steam too. Otherwise I will pick up a retail copy, maybe one with those fancy schmancy extras

I'm getting it digital, will just have to decide whether to go Steam or GoG.

I'm not sure if I'll be able to run it well enough to make it look pretty like in the trailers, so I hope a demo comes out or else I'll have to download it to test it out first. Don't have the $45 to drop haphazardly.

I'll probably use GoG then as long as it isn't more expensive than I can get a retail copy delivered for.  I only still buy physical copies at all because it's so much cheaper than DD (which is ridiculous).  Buying direct from the developer's site is the best way to support PC gaming, so if they give me that option at a competitive price then I'll use it every time.

I have a Q6600, so a pretty old quad core, along with XP, 2 GB of ram and a 9800GX2. To date I've been able to max out most every game (at least all the ones I care about) but the witcher 2 looks like it's going to put a little more strain on my system than I'm used to. Since I'm a student I really don't have the cash to opt for a system overhaul. "
