As the idea of a mainstream loses more relevance, this sort of question will increasingly seem irrelevant. I would classify Patrick's stuff under "Things that Patrick has an opinion about and has been published in some form".
I'll second that GTAIV thing. I think it has to do with the Games for Windows Live integration. Which is upside down and backwards in 8, as far as I've figured it out. I don't believe Sleeping Dogs has that problem, but I'll report back.
To be more precise: $8.50. Just thought I'd give a heads up. Totally worth the cost. With GTAV coming out, I was fiending for some open world tomfoolery.
Religion and the Decline of Magic. Extremely well written. Enjoying it thoroughly. Picked it up when I went to Plimoth Plantation. Living museums creep me out, but it was worth the day trip. Listened to Bombcasts all the way there.
Did the math on SLIing another 560ti to the one I have in there. turns out the numbers are higher than a 670. Might go that route and save $100. Anybody done an SLI? Are there downsides?
Roger Ebert was a kind and talented individual. He made a profound impact on me. He was the genesis of my critical voice. He showed me the power of the movies and judged things by explaining exactly how he perceived them.
Just watched The Shop Around the Corner last night. It's a movie that I would not have found without his influence. I fell in love with it. He was a good reviewer. Changed the game a bit.
I'll re-watch Citizen Kane with his commentary tonight. Just to swim in his movie knowledge one more time.
